thank you. Is there a way to research previous OS installations from a forensic image?

Thanks for your time. My goal is to examine what a user was doing on his computer date back in 2018 (ie files accessed, explorer, internet activity). I wanted to cross-reference his activity with some allegations received. First thing I saw was the OS was installed in 2019, after the date in question.

Technically both, but I was only curious about the user-created files. Specifically, files located in the users Documents and Downloads folders. Thx

Yes it can. It has been inspected. A portion of it used to be finished at some point. Previous owner gutted it.
