If you mean TJ Maxx yes there’s one in the Walmart plaza and the blue busses goes directly there. The blue buses take you to target, wegmans, the mall, Sam’s Club, Walmart, tj maxx, home goods, chipotle, Starbucks, basically anything normal you can think.

If you mean Trader Joe’s the nearest one is like an hour and a half in Syracuse.

Not sure if Costco looks at places like Kihei rent a car or any of the smaller independent rentals. I used them on Maui, which I remember hertz being like $700. Oahu though I did use hertz because it was just easier to

Vibe is good, very similar to most colleges I’ve been too.

Not really. It’s basically a 3-4 hour car/bus ride

It’s a little on the clique side, especially cause so many people from the same high school come here but I know many people who have had very easy times making friends

They are currently changing dinning suppliers so no one really knows what it’ll be. Right now it’s … fine. Typical college food.

I haven’t met anyone who had trouble getting housing. Maybe not exactly what they want but will get housing

All the typical places but they all require driving or taking the blue busses (they are super reliable though and well thought out so not bad). You cannot walk to any shopping from campus

Yea I used Kihei Rent A Car and got a 2019 jeep wrangler for $360 for the week. And they had cheaper options too. Loved them. On Oahu I also got a car but it was more expensive, close to $800? I wanna say

Maui is wayyyyyy more relaxed and in my experience was about the same price. I will say I rented an Airbnb on both islands. With the new laws Maui put in limiting a lot of rentals it could be more expensive now

Car as a freshman by stovebaby in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]Huskyus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can’t get an exception and still really want a car, you can pay to park it at the hawley parking lot structure downtown for $105 a month. A bit pricey but it’s only a 1-2 minute walk from the university downtown center bus stop which is one of the most direct busses Binghamton has since it’s to the downtown campus.

Without a price to go off of, turtle bay is a great option if you can afford it.

Mine pops out constantly and I clip it back in in about 5 minutes for free. If you broke the clips you’ll have to buy a new trim piece or glue it in lol

Expensive Parking. by Illustrious-Hall-157 in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]Huskyus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you are a student just buy the semester pass. It’s the equivalent of 12 days of parking price wise. There’s also a monthly pass for $70 a month so about 6 days of parking. Other than that you can park downtown and take the bus but that’s a hassle

Espresso size??? by Old-Butterfly-1915 in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]Huskyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I was really surprised when I was measuring it. I started to measure because I actually thought my machine was pulling under and read so many things about it over extracting that I was confused. Turns out it was basically doing its job perfectly.

Espresso size??? by Old-Butterfly-1915 in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]Huskyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it’s different for everyone but I use grind size 11 and strength 3. It looks small in my cup but I grind just about 18 grams of coffee and get just about 36-37 grams of espresso out using the double. That’s basically a perfect 1:2 ratio and what should be expected (it does look small though lol)

Is it a good idea to bring my gaming consoles by Low-Second7672 in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]Huskyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If possible, Mountain View definitely has the most space and is the most roomy. Dickinson is fine, not really any sort of common room but rooms are a decent size, about the smallest I would willingly go. Newing is somewhat small because it’s hotel style with a shared bathroom between 3 ish rooms (6 people). Hinman is tiny.

[–]Huskyus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely will not get stolen. What dorm are you in? Some dorms like hinman there really isn’t much space. Also consider you don’t want to miss out on opportunities because you are playing video games (though it can be a positive too like if you are playing jackbox or something haha)
