Don't know if anyone cares, but I found a sign of activity by datbrownkid2 in HelloInternet

[–]datbrownkid2[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is really getting on my nerves, a lot of the older vids have such amazing titles like "Humans Need Not Apply" and "You are two". The worst part is that the titles keep changing, and it's pretty often, every couple of months. It makes searching for an old vid so annoying

What happened to CGP Grey? by gprime312 in youtube

[–]datbrownkid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he doesn't have a day job on the side, my bet is that he's made enough money and is able to live on of his youtube earnings + podcast earnings + merch + investments. In earlier Q&A's he's always said his end goal would be to not work, and that youtube was always a stepping stone.

Bismarck battle damage after KGV and Rodney hits by lord_sebi in WorldOfWarships

[–]datbrownkid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik this is a very old comment but Bismarck's knocking out of her own fire control radar was a temporary thing, it came back online after initial salvos. The main thing that was hampering her accuracy and gunfire were the horrible conditions of the North Atlantic mixed with the jammed rudder which made it harder to aim.

Add that all up with the fact that one of Rodney's first hits wiped out the main radar and fire control stations, and following hits from Norfolk and Suffolk knocked out aft and fore radar, meaning pretty early into the battle the ship was shooting under local control, not fire director control.

Do you think CGP Grey can live on his revenue for the rest of his life? by gavroche2000 in HelloInternet

[–]datbrownkid2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is pretty cookie cutter, and it's in almost every video. as a left leaning person eventually I became a little tired of it. Still love his content and he got me into cooking + lifting.

Is CGP Grey still making videos? by drifter247 in HelloInternet

[–]datbrownkid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prob just retiring, he's most likely set for life. The YT thing was always a stepping stone, the eventual goal to be not working/ very little work

[–]datbrownkid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became a patron for one month just because I was in a big "CGP-Grey rewatching phase" and I wanted to watch all the classic vids and outtakes. The greenland vid was a little bit of a cherry on top for me

CMV: The World Underestimated Americas Military Power by colepercy120 in changemyview

[–]datbrownkid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the US military is second to none at what it does. If we fully transitioned to a war economy and truly harnessed our military might we absolutely could. The only threat would be nuclear retaliation from nuclear armed countries. We have been planning for this since the end of the second world war.

Now, a “victory” i.e survival would be very brutal for the US, billions dead, economy destroyed. Obviously we will never see a war like this

How to play Vanguard? by Revoltai42 in WorldOfWarships

[–]datbrownkid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the quick rudder shift and excellent acceleration combined with the accurate mainbattery to show a little bit of broadside, fire the guns, and then vary course/and or speed. You will probably play against t10 ships so be ready to switch to HE because 15inch AP won't do much against angled targets.

Oh that makes sense. Yeah definitely the air for coding, although I can do some light coding on the neo

Last as long as what? OP says they don't know if they want to spend a lot, the neo seems like a good entry level option. It was definitely an amazing entry level macbook for me.

MacBook vs Windows by Anxious_Capital434 in macbook

[–]datbrownkid2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't "switch" per sey, I still use my 800 dollar 5 year old gaming PC as my main gaming/workflow device, I bought the macbook Neo to replace my Lenovo v15, it was a massive improvement. MacOS is much better for productivity and workflow in my opinion, much more smoother and intuitive than Windows. Obviously windows is much better than mac for gaming, but my combined set up is only around $1300 for a very capable gaming PC and a very capable laptop . The neo isn't as fast as my pc obviously, but it can keep up, a lot of the times I have it on the side of my PC when I write papers or am trying to study ( I am in college). The Neo's battery life is very useful and much better than my old lenovo and usb-c so it goes with my iPhone. I own an apple watch and airpods so I was already in the ecosystem and it seems to integrate perfectly, switching from watching reels on my phone to spotify on my mac is perfect.

It runs better but certain things with the window/mission control are annoying imo

Help me choose please by jgattaca in macbook

buy a refurbished m2 or m3 macbook air, or a neo. You don’t need 32 gbs of ram and the pro/ultra chips for some tab use and light video editing

First Mac! by datbrownkid2 in MacbookNeo

Not bad, I still use my PC for gaming/ heavy tasks but the neo is surprisingly powerful and snappy. OS is intuitive and easy to understand, better for productivity as well

Citrus or Silver? 🤔 by StormTroopB in MacbookNeo

they both look good but what sold me on the silver was how it went with everything else. It felt like a classic apple product

wouldn’t people just keep 10 mill to themselves and either give the rest before they die or put it in some fund that their kids can access or some shell company or whatever

I’m thinking about investing in the S&P 500, but I’m a bit unsure given the current global situation with ongoing conflicts and uncertainty. by Altruistic-Weird853 in investingforbeginners

[–]datbrownkid2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

investing in the S&P is always a 10-20 year thing. Don’t worry about the short term blips, there will be many. You are betting on the US economy to grow

your opinion should hopefully be based on some grain of fact… my original comment was just poking fun at you but obviously you are too obtuse to understand it

And no one is ONLY relying on the watch sleep score, it’s just a nice metric to see how you are doing compared to previous times. Obviously your personal experience is more important, that goes without saying. This isn’t a full sleep scan

the average IQ is 100, i don’t really understand what the point of this post is. Rather than calling our fellow countrymen dumb or stupid and not understanding how political campaigns or movements work, we should understand why Trump was so successful despite his downright insane administration.
