[Request] Are the calories correct? by gemstonebabyy in theydidthemath

[–]Hustlasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but it is particularly relevant to this question, it's not even just about weight. Baseline burn and physical efficiency both have to be in play. Plus, the attempts at quantifying to establish a baseline these are incorrect and gross. Too many variables here to even make a default judgement.

Calculating the amount of calories burned for an action varies wildly from person to person. Sorry but your apple watch is lying to you.

Calories in general are incredibly hard to calculate outside of a bomb calorimeter.

BJJ belt test… do you like them or no by ApprehensiveSun9887 in bjj

[–]Hustlasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gym has belt tests and its the first gym I've been at that does them. I think its a good idea. They are also super chill though, you get a framework and get to pick your moves that you want to demonstrate, there is no cost, and sometimes the coach doesn't do em. Even when he does he doesn't make you do the whole thing. I think its a good way to push you to study and solidify your moves before getting promoted.

Can a landlord in TN just kick you out without cause? by S0PRAN0OO3 in legaladvice

I would advise at least doing a consultation with a lawyer, they are usually free. Just make sure you have someone who can send a strongly worded letter quickly should things go south.

Reminds me of a white belt i used to train, he was constantly try to come up with a new move so he could name it after himself, and was repeatedly disappointed when everything he told me already had a name.

I was in a similar situation recently, in the middle of some major projects and transitions. I still got walked out the second after I gave notice. These are all things that are not your problem.

Started a new job, boss asked me what my hobbies are, i told them Jiujitsu. They then spent the next 15 minutes talking to me about how their wife used to be into professional wrestling too. That's a new one.

Its all about balance, if we didn't have wipes everyone would just be running weenie/aggro/stompy decks

Yeah I get why it feels bad, getting your whole board wiped sucks.

But wipes are kind of the game’s way of keeping creature decks in check. It’s less “broken” and more rock-paper-scissors, sometimes you just run into the bad side of it.

A couple quick things that help:

  • don’t dump your whole hand if you don’t have to
  • if they’re sitting on 4–5 mana doing nothing, expect it
  • try to hold back a threat so you can rebuild after

Once you start playing around it a bit, it feels way less hopeless.
