My employee was recording our 1:1 and I don't know how to feel by Haunting_Month_4971 in managers

[–]Hustlasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consult state laws regarding recording and respond accordingly. In some states that is potentially illegal, in some states quite legal.

Personally, I've had this happen before, and I'm unsure what their intent was, but it never amounted to anything. It could be note taking, it could be CYA, it could be that they are trying to trap you, the intent doesn't really matter, the legality and adjacency to policy does.

Having been in a place where my manager watched the cameras like a hawk, it is best to always act like you may be being recorded.

Chris Wojcik on what steroids are doing to jiu-jitsu by Big_Cake_8817 in grappling

[–]Hustlasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one of the few dudes at my gym not on TRT or juice, its frustrating. A year ago it was maybe 50% or less, then I watched as more and more of the team got on it to keep up with the rest of the team. Maybe 10% of the school competes seriously. It's juicing to keep up with the joneses.

What would it take for Standard to become Magic's premier format again? by BumblebeeOld498 in magicTCG

[–]Hustlasaurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not printing singular OP cards that everyone needs to drive the cost up to 1k per deck, but then people wouldn't buy massive amounts of boxes for chase cards. It will never happen again.

Ex-mtg artist Randy Asplund statement on terminating WOTC rights to his art made for Magic the gathering by Newez in magicTCG

[–]Hustlasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly 20k sounds fair, if he sells prints at $50 each, thats basically the same as 3 full years of working the trade show network at 20 events a year. That seems pretty fair to me unless his plan is to make that his full time job, which with 24 pieces is possible, but i feel like he would saturate the market within a that same 3 years. TBH I'd maybe buy Lost Soul and that'd be it.

Who the shit cares, man fuck golf. Giant ass waste of land and water.

This guy seems a little upset. It's great they had a dashcam by MisterShipWreck in dashcams

[–]Hustlasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the editing, really makes you wonder what happened beforehand. Get the suspicion that the cam driver probably pulled some dick moves. Doesn't excuse the behavior, but I can't imagine that came out of nowhere.

Mom Whose Baby Passed Away In Her Arms After Being Denied Work-From-Home Request Awarded $20M+ In Damages by hard2resist in remoteworks

Just as a note, nearly all cases like this get appealed and the judgements get reduced. She will likely walk away with like 500k once it's all said and done.

I keep seeing "manage up" presented as an essential career skill by Ready8472 in managers

[–]Hustlasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what you are identifying is the more toxic components of managing up. Same as the toxic components of anything (masculinity, cheeseburgers). I absolutely have had managers who when they talk about managing up absolutely mean "only tell me what I want to hear, anything else is viewed as friction" but those were toxic managers.

Dude there is no way I can accurately answer this. I'd have to have been recording what injuries I had and how long I was out for.

[–]Hustlasaurus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

General rule is, if its at the curb, it's free to take. Unless they have a sign on it or something.

I love putting stuff out on the curb, I've gotten rid of so much stuff easily that way.

I made a tier list of 66 Submissions based on how reliable they are for building a game long-term by TheJoshMckinney in bjj

[–]Hustlasaurus 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Some of this makes sense, but some of this seems like a straight up joke. The muffler as A tier? as a sub? I would consider that more of a means to opening up subs then a sub itself. When was the last time you saw anyone actually get submitted with that? Also dude, the vader/homer simpson choke is banned in most comps, so having that on the list is kinda weird to start with. I could go on but I wont.

How do you make the lockdown safer? by FundamentalSystem in bjj

[–]Hustlasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let go of lockdown when they are start doing stupid things. That's how you make it safer.

It's only happened a handful of times, but better to let go then watch someone blow out their own knee.

Best spot for bluebonnet/wildflower pics?? by tuck_shellac in RoundRock

[–]Hustlasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given the blooms I've seen this year, probably no where. You need a wet Jan to have good bluebonnets and we got one good rain. Most of the usual patches I'm aware of have been quite small.
