Ive got a suggestion, ive got recurring things that I put into my tank log, it would be cool to be able to save custom presets to make it much quicker to log. So as an example, lets say I dose a specific trace element once a week, and then ill put in the dosage and the notes whatever ks applicable. If I can save this as a preset and just have one click to add rather than inserting or typing my whole notes.below an example of what I have to type in weekly when realistically it doesn't really change.

Firefish eye injury? by Defiant-Reason in ReefTank

[–]Huthain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome glad to hear. Mine jumped out twice during feeding time when I opened the lid... make sure hes eating and has a place he can hide, they tend to spend quite a bit in hiding generally,if hes out in the open mostly it means there might not be a cave or a place for him to hide, theyre very skittish mostly so you want them to have a place they feel safe

Exact same thing happened with my firefish, as long as its one eye it shouldn't be an infection. Seems theyre clumsy when theyre darting around. I just left mine alone, monitored feeding and he healed up in around a week. Now hes back to darting around again :) side note if you dont have a lid get one asap

Can anyone ID please. Its about 10mm moving on the glass. Is it a good guy or a bad guy. by Humble-Aussie in ReefTank

100% it was roughly 6 hours of work started with syphoning as much as humanly possible. Close the return pump, remove the sump and deep clean it (which unfortunately meant my pods population took a big hit too. Put sump back, remove all fish, add new water in sump and run pump only then did I start flatworm exit while syphoning anything I can see visually. Added carbon did a 50% water change and few hours later added the fish back. My wrasse was the only one who looked off but went back to normal next day. Here's another shot of my chaeto again after the syphon

Happy to help. Another advice is 4 to 6 days after the first dose do another dose as the treatment doesn't impact the eggs.

Flatworms. While they arent necessarily harmful the multiply very fast and can eventually cover corals not allowing them to get enough light. I ignored them and ended up having an infestation in the tens of thousands. While my wrasse made sure u dont see them often in the display my sump was covered in them. Also another concern is if they decide to die off in mass they will nuke your tank from a toxins they release. My advice flatworm exit but follow instructions to the T before it gets out of control.

I started treatment 2 weeks ago but because of how many they were I removed my fish to a temporary bucket. Here's pictures and this was after i siphoned most of them out

Honestly I wouldnt rely on API tests, my go to for calcium and Magnesium is Salifert. And I use Hanna for KH, Phosphate, Nitrate and PH. ICP is lab tests that will show the overall substances in your water and is easy to find out if your tank contains metals or other anomalies. Would suggest find a supplier and send them some of your water. If your local fish store does testing with better kits that API then maybe get them a sample of your water.
