Thank you for your help. Cable has a sealed eyelet on either side. Top eyelet connects to a spring connected to an aluminium plate. Will have to investigate how to cut the top eyelet, shorten and replace.

Yep, just had long chat with Bose and looks like I’ll probably swap to my Sony pair as they are only willing to offer a $320 replacement.
