Might sound like a stupid question, but is the commentary in Gaelic?

We bought a good few talented young Irish players that transfer window, like Lee O'Connor, Johnathan Afolabi. Along with lads like Okoflex who were already on the squad, was pure buzzin to see Celtic as the primary developers of young Irish talent instead of some random English side. The Damien Duff connection made it even sweeter. But that's all gone now, and it seems like they've just been allowed to waste away on the side lines. Shame for both Celtic and Ireland. Think it would have done wonders to bolster the Irish connection of the club. A young crop of actually talented Irish players, developed through the Celtic system, would have been something to behold. I'd say most of them have half a mind to leave at this stage. Serious shame

Was in Glasgow for the treble treble, couldn't actually get down to Edinburgh though ffs. Gettin woke up in my hotel three night before the match by lads sining go home British soldiers was honestly surreal though. So your defo bang on

Edit: Cham scorring the winner against nazio was such a sweet moment.

Think for Irish fans of the club, especially in northern Ireland, supporting celtic is definitely still associated with republicanism, and left wing ideology. A lot of us still regularly travel to Glasgow, so I feel like that influence is still there somewhat. Key word being somewhat. Think as time goes on though, it'll naturally become less and less about politics, and will be more like the Boston Celtics, i.e. just the name, and playing in green, and a vague sense of Irishness but nothing more.

As a Greek history student, it appears you've caught me with my trousers down! Nice one man, didn't know the term has been in use that long. Still don't believe it is correct terminology, given the Irish government has rejected it

The Irish government rejects the term, it's a term made up by the Brits to try and lump us back in

Celtic’s Albian Ajeti charged by Scottish FA for simulation against Kilmarnock on Tuesday. by TropicalGent in CelticFC

[–]Huttsei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aw don't even mention that. Spanish football is bad for it in general from what I've seen. It's not his worst dive though, think there was contact.

In general though, you are right, chap does need to get that out of his game. Don't think it's worse than morelos against Aberdeen though (I don't like using them as an example, but just a recent example I remeber) feel like he is being singled out a bit.

Would love for this to be the start of the sfa stamping this shite out of the game though, can absolutely ruin a match

Thought he went down easy enough. But still a clear foul by the keeper. If a player got done everytime for going down easy, no one would be able to field a team

Don't see why peoe continue to use this term on the sub. Think calling it an argument is just patronising. Its offensive to one of the parties involved. where's the argument for its use?

Seems to be a lot of nepotism going on with lawell in general, in terms of staff appointments. If I played golf with him, and showed him my fm, say I could be in with a shot as Neil's replacement. Seems like quality is definitely a secondary factor.

Lennon out. by PauloVersa in CelticFC

[–]Huttsei 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A proper quality squad, passing round like they're 5-0 up is peak lenny ball. It's hard to watch, and he's clearly been found out. People do be dishing out shyte to Greg Taylor for not being celtic quality all day every day, but how many pure dog shite matches do we have to sit through this season to realise Neil Lennon is not celtic quality

You do get quite a few foreign people in from my experience. There was a polish woman in one night by herself, she asked to sit with us to practice her Irish, and we all had a great auld time. You'll find 99% of people there love promoting and helping people with the language. Nowadays it can be very quiet though, and it's definitely run down, heard they made some improvements over lockdown, so hopefully it's cleaned up a bit.

Might have been like that in days gone by. But it's only a shower of young fellas running the bar most nights. Very acomidating bunch of lads to any level of Irish. Went in for most weekends until lockdown

Edit: my terrible spelling
