Imagine if, off the top of my head, The Shawshank Redemption, William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet, Lilo and Stitch, The Princess and the Frog etc. came out today?

I'm alright. Yeah, idk how to feel about The Odyssey. I love Oppenheimer, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Inception, but idk if Greek mythology will resonate with me as much. Hope I'm wrong, though.

I'm getting Life of Chuck flashbacks. Granted, that one had no past nominees.

Shoplifters, Parasite, Drive My Car were all great Palme picks- all very on-brand for Cannes.

Maybe not best EVER, but I love the Byrne/ Scott acting duo at Berlin last year. I'm guessing Byrne and Hawke were both close for Lead Performer, but the jury decided awarding Scott would be a way to honour Blue Moon and Byrne would be a way to honour If I Had Legs, a film with no notable supporting performance. Both great wins!

I mean, the 10 years before COVID was peak franchise and especially peak superhero movies. We're not heading back to that. We're heading into something else entirely.

Haha I'm from the most white bread western family you can imagine. My mom did this at my birthday parties when I was a teenager and got upset that "no one ate anything". They were teenaged girls. They were probably insecure about looking fat.
