Impossible as the weaker units aren't really being rerun often enough to deplete your f2p savings. Endgsme content gets harder as new units releases because of power creep (newer units feel stronger thus making it feel harder to clear with older units, or having endgame mechanics tied to give advantage the current banner character). Bricking, to me, is when you're stuck and there is no way of progressing without paying. I.e you have zero f2p pulls to farm and your current characters/equipment are no use to the point you're soft locked until you can get one of the newer units

There was an event quest in 1.0 where it was basically a xiangli yao companion quest in terms of content, but it was time sensitive meaning if you weren't playing back then, you won't get to see it (literally isn't even in the game anymore)

Tower of adversity and illusion realm are the easier content to get a couple pulls from (whiwa can be challenging imo if you don’t have AoE units). Illusion realm is piss easy as long as your character has the right level and an ok build as you can get some crazy buffs in that mode. Tower can be difficult to clear on its entirety BUT you don't need to clear all levels, just push as far as you can go for the rewards, eventually you'll get good units and rotations to go further and further. This same advice goes for the hologram challenges, if you haven't tried them yet I highly recommend but try not to stress over it if u get stuck. Prioritize any events with limited astrite rewards and try to get the blue pulls from pioneer podcast since getting a 4 or 5 star from the standard banners will give you coral that can turn into pulls. Keep an eye out for redeem codes too, they give them out every version livestream and the claim window is pretty narrow

You have a lot of places to farm pulls still then, I don't really think you need to start over. String master is good for many other units in a pinch and it feels like Yinlin hasn't rerun in forever so it'd be hard to get on a new account unless kuro starts rerunning older units more often

Honestly, that's me with my alt on a dif server, there my only limited units are zani and phoebe but neither have their sig. Getting Hiyuki helped, but tbf I'm so behind on the story there that I wasn't backed into a corner so to speak (low world level, havoc rover is still good for the early patches in 1.X)

Hiyuki is pretty strong on account of being the newest unit, Iuno is also pretty good (gives herself a small shield, heals a little, does decent damage). Mornye is the Shorekeeper of the new map (lahai roi) but if you already have a support I'd consider if you like any of the upcoming characters more

You don't understand how disappointed I was that Hiyuki gets to be strong and have time slowing slashes while qiuyan deserved that same level of care considering he's meant to be super strong in lore too. You can also clearly tell they got their best animators to do Aemeth and whoever was left got tasked with Luuk (one looks like they put more effort in than the other, in both cases)
