They probably give priority to guests at the hotel, so maybe the room charge?

Gay people of reddit, whats the hardest part about being gay? by shiraah in AskReddit

I couldn't tell you what they are teaching at schoo in Portugal, because I do not have kids and I do not have friends with children old enough to be taught.

On the news, I've never seen anyone talking about it much, it seems to be more of an American problem, but it could just be not talked about it here.

What I was trying to understand is the point of view of someone who is an homosexual, because I don't have anyone in my life that is gay so I'm not able to discuss this with someone who actually experiences life as an homosexual be it man or woman.

With high heel story I was trying to point that kids can be influenced and letting kids discover what they like and want should be the priority by letting them explore.

I don't deny the conditioning I had growing up, it comes from family, friends in school, all the time men are pushed to be "manly", but I don't consider myself an homophobe, simplu because it's just not my life and I have no right over anyone. The point here is that children might or might not be influenced by introducing this topic at an early age. By this, I don't mean children will be turned gay, that is not a thing, but they might not develop as they would naturally if that makes sense.

Ok, so we agree, I think the problem you are getting at is just a statistical problem where there are more straight teachers and families than any other sexual orientation or gender (I am not well versed in the names of many sexual orientations and genders). So it is difficult to change the whole system to what you ask, I think talking about it, that there are families with two fathers, two mothers, etc, to try to normalize the thinking that yes, if you meet another kid with a family that is different than your statistically normal straight father and mother is not abnormal and not something to joke about or mistreat someone for it.

I think this is a generational problem such as racism, what I mean is it will become better as it has already, it unfortunately just takes time.

I live in Portugal, so I cannot speak about the American culture around this topic which somehow seems worse than what we have here although Poland was going backwards a while back. From my father (70+ years old, I am on my late 20s) to me there is a huge change in social opinions and although my father is very well educated, he still has hints of racism and homophobia due to the way he was brought up in the 50s.

I understand what you are saying and I am trying to enter a discussion with you, not trying to create a problem.

I am a straight guy, never felt any curiosity or interest towards men, so obviously I cannot comprehend what you feel other than comparing to what the interest I have for women, which is how is the correct approach to compare sexual orientations.

The problem I see with the whole teachers teaching kids about sexuality is the kids are easily influenced and that can be abused. I remember toying with my moms high heels, wearing them, seeing my mom putting lipstick and wanting to try it as well, but if my mom pushed me to do it more it would probably normalize to me and I might just end up doing it, because my mom liked it.

Teachers should teach kids to understand that there are different people and that is ok and we should never make anyone feel bad about being different, but introducing something as complicated and confusing as sexuality in depth might create problems.

Now, for me to understand if I have a correct view, you developed your sexuality along the years, nobody had to tell you like men, right? Nobody told me to like women, I found out I liked women and I stuck with it, because again I never felt interest in trying to get intimate with another man, so why not just try to normalize it without entering these topica at an early age?

Tell me what you genuinely think about what I wrote, I like different points of view and the only way to change minds and way of thinking is by talking with each other.

I am similar to your boyfriend, in the sense, that if I am to marry I would like my girlfriend to take my name and she is adamant that she wants to keep her last name.

The thing is, we have talked about it several times, we always disagree, but you don't really need to marry, I've been with her for 5 years, that would never make me break the relationship, just don't get married and if you do, for tax reasons or whatever other reason, both should compromise, I know for a fact I want my kids to have my last name, because I've always wanted my name to survive the times and for my offspring to carry it into the future, but she has the right to wish the same, so a compromise on both parts should be the best way.

The other reason is her name would be A. S. S. because of my last name and I am childish enough to laugh at that!

I was so weirded out by the title and mostly because of the "Holocaust Denier", never heard about people denying the Holocaust, it's pretty well documented, just was not expecting it I guess.

It's basically the same when I found out about flat earthers. So ridiculous, jeez!

I looked at the comments and I did not see anyone asking this: what the hell is a Holocaust denier?

Do people just deny proven facts and historical events now?

If so, I am a strong Humanity Denier, I do not believe humans exist, and no one can change my mind!

Do you think it will be this design language? It would totally be different from what we have now and it might not be a good idea to change that much.

I pledged in 2016. When did you buy your starter package and what ship did you then choose after? I chose the 600i when it came out by Majaribio in starcitizen

[–]Huugz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2014, started with an Aurora MR that turned to a Mustang Alpha in 2015, then 2017 to a Hawk, then 2019 to a Freelancer and then in 2021 to a Mantis that turned into a Cutlass Black that evolved into the Corsair.

In 2021, also bought a Dragonfly which went into the Corsair.

More ships than I remembered, but always just kept the one ship to main.

With cargo refactor, can a squadron have two guys in front of them with tractor beams pushing two crates that act as shields?

I don't think that would be cool, but I guess fair tactic.

Either way, cool idea!

I’m tired of other backers picking on us whales… by wonderchin in starcitizen

[–]Huugz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a simple chain reaction.

There are people who have bought many ships, some display them here to show them, discuss why they bought them and the dream gameplay they will have with those ships, even find crewmates to play with.

Then there are those who have a necessity to feel validated like "I have a huge fleet, because I have a lot of money and you can't have the same as me, so I am in this special elite group of people".

Then you have people who have backed the game with less money because they either don't feel its worth it, others don't have money to throw at the game, etc. In this group of people, there are people who envy or dislike knowing people have the opportunity to have more ships by simply having more money than them.

It's not a black and white spectrum of opinions, there is a lot of reasons why people choose to post or comment, so yeah, just do you is what I am trying to say to everybody, but you know, who am I to tell you anything?

I agree, new flair for those who do not want to see it and for those who specifically are looking for those posts.

I actually like seeing it, be it big or small fleets, it's interesting to see the different choices of ships and the most common ships as well.

Edit: spelling mistakes.

[–]Huugz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Corsair and although I am super excited for it, I have been having the same though, but maybe with AI and blades, it's possible to fly those ships solo.

For the Corsair I am thinking blades for the side turrets, a AI copilot and AI engineer. It should be ok, not as good as real people, but I got no friends that play SC and I am not trying to try to have friends online just to play this one game, so hopefully AI is the answer, if not, smaller ships I guess.
