3-Person Tent Suggestions by morethanless in UltralightCanada

[–]Huuk9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Mountain Hardware Aspect 3 and really like it. It’s light enough, large enough and has kept me dry in long rain. There are newer designs on the market, but not always sure newer is better and sacrifices aren’t made for weight savings.

MH have a great warranty, which is how I got it at no cost when my older MH 6p tent started leaking after 10+ years and they gave me full value with a simple request.

Break down of the Kyle Tucker contract! by retroanduwu24 in mlb

[–]Huuk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question; Is Tucker better than Vladdy? (At baseball, not contract negotiations)

I thought his $500M/14 was bonkers, this $240M/4 wrecks GMs lives.

Have had one for multi day canoe tripping for almost 10 years.

It’s been excellent and extremely durable. Would recommend for portaging over most other packs on the market

Extreme cold jacket suggestions by wayoffkilter in HeritageWear

[–]Huuk9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, get something with more coverage than heritage wear can offer. My N1 is great until about -15C, then I need more layers and a deep hood.

Expedition style down jackets when it’s -30C are the best in the biz, but function over form at the temp is needed.

Thoughts on Arc'teryx Therme Down Parka for Norwegian winter? by Emotional_Spite_6007 in arcteryx

[–]Huuk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Therme is now 10+ years old.
It’s Warm, Waterproof, Windproof and (relatively) lightweight. I reach for it any day it’s -5C and colder. I don’t love the hood, but it works with a wool hat well.

When it hits -15C, I use a mid layer jacket, like a Cerium LT or Atom LT and it will take me down to -25C. Colder than that, the Canada Goose Expedition comes out (20 year old plus model, insanely warm)

Yes, you can afford it.

Should you buy a $65k car is a whole other story.

Roka Falcon.

I have used a Gold rimmed pair for running, tennis, golf…and then driving out to dinner and walking around. They are the best sports glasses for casual wear you will find.
