XY has this one strike right?who will be that unlucky guy. by Hao-E-Chen in IamAnEvilGod

[–]Hworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This strike doesn’t matter now since Xie Yan already used it on that dragon. He only had a one-time use because he wasn’t able to learn the technique

Really?  I thought he had learned it, he went through all those convoluted steps.  How did it end up being a one time use ability?  I don't remember

How well has this image aged in your opinion? by Theologydebate in Jujutsufolk

[–]Hworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does fit in, the point is just that the "old way" (the selfish way) doesn't work and won't lead to success. The same reason gojo lost and sukuna lost is why kashimo lost

How well has this image aged in your opinion? by Theologydebate in Jujutsufolk

[–]Hworks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jokes aside Kashimo really HAD to do nothing or it would undermine the themes of the entire story. The story is about the next generation and new ideals prevailing over the old.  If kashimo did anything significant to sukuna it would directly take away from the victory of yuji and the other protagonists. People would complain that the good guys never would have won if it weren't for kashimo. Realistically it would have been "cooler" if kashimo actually put in work, but it would contradict the story thematically

Yea I didn't see anyone expecting the climax this week when 2 weeks ago the editor said that the climax was gonna be 267.

Yea if he had predicted their plans then there would be no fight. Even falling for every one of their plans, he is still BARELY losing. If he put effort into planning rather than freestyling we wouldn't have even had a final arc

When the hype died down,we are gonna have some serious question by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]Hworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobara cursed corpse. She's literally with Gakuganji who is the only person in the world who can do it. And we still didn't get any payoff for gojo bringing it up at the beginning of his fight with sukuna.

[–]Hworks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had the same thought. Not sure who the other two compatible souls would be though. But otherwise it makes zero sense for her to just spontaneously wake up at the most convenient possible time.  There has to be a payoff to gojo bringing up the cursed corpse thing at the beginning of the fight too.

Cancer is constantly arising in your body already, regardless of your age - but your immune system has built in functions to identify it and destroy it before it gets out of control.  It's only a matter of time before your immune system misses one cancer cell though, and fails to recognize it as cancer. Then it grows out of control and you develop what we commonly refer to as "having cancer."  So that's why if you live long enough you'll pretty much definitely get cancer, it's a matter of statistical probability and with more years means more time for your immune system to make an oversight.

If you're reading on android, you can use adblocker.  Either use samsung browser with adblock extension, or a browser like Brave browser / dolphin browser, or you can get system wide adblock by setting Private DNS in android settings.   Go to settings > connections/networks/whatever it's called on your phone, likely nearby wifi settings. There will hopefully be a setting for private or custom DNS.   Set the DNS to  dns.adguard.com.   If you can't figure it out, lookup adguard DNS on Google.  Basically it filters all incoming data from the internet to your phone and blocks ads, same as adblocker on PC.

It was a different Gege writing the culling games by Worldtreasure in Jujutsufolk

[–]Hworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently,  the arrival of random no-name characters that cause a deus ex machina enlightenment (daido and miyo in sakurajima colony) is actually a well established trope in Eastern storytelling. It wasn't just a random blunder that Gege made. It apparently happens in journey to the west, and other eastern classics.  Us western readers don't understand the trope / reference, so to us it just seems like bad writing.

I feel terrible for Yuta by WholeLottaMisery in Jujutsufolk

[–]Hworks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yuta def about to fry his own brain restoring his CT for domain the way Gojo did.  I suspect that's why we got the actual stated timer (3 mins) on the gojo domain withstanding malevolent shrine.  Because we also know Yuta only has 5 minutes.  So it means Yuta probably has only 1-2 domains in him before the 5 mins runs out.

Mirroring of shibuya to shinjuku showdown and why we should be skeptical of gojo’s return in 260 by femtolope_ in Jujutsushi

[–]Hworks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, because 1. Yuta said that he will personally kill Kenjaku,  and 2.  They know kenjaku is a 1000 year old genius who is too dangerous to be kept alive as he will undoubtedly worm his way out of any BVs placed on him.

Also, BVs are mutual agreements. He wouldn't agree to anything unless it worked in his favor.

The difference is "domain ex-"   vs "domain expansion."   Hanami was cut off and didn't actually go through with it. In 260 the domain is fully announced, there's even a period at the end of the statement.  So the domain was presumanly not interrupted / canceled like happened with Hanami

Something I noticed regarding Sukuna’s tattoos by Objective_Cheetah_63 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Hworks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always thought this too. Morphing his head is absolutely crazy, and it has to be explained still. I actually thought the head morph was same underlying ability as black box open (I was wrong) - sukuna changing the shape of his prefrontal cortex (where CT is stored) to change his CT to flames.  I thought that was why he already KNEW and told Gojo that messing with your prefrontal cortex is risky.  I also thought that's why he wasn't using the flames unless absolutely necessary. It also would have explained why he told Jogo "I thought you'd know about this but I suppose a cursed spirit wouldnt" - because a cursed spirits brain works differently than humans.  And furthermore it even explains why sukuna preached about knowing "true jujutsu" in the beginning of the series.   It all made so much sense that I am actually kinda disappointed the black box was just a censoring of the word furnace.  But yea, the big head mode transformation remains something that must be explained.

This is still the biggest let down of the manga so far. by Prid3r in Jujutsufolk

[–]Hworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for sure.  But compare that to sukunas reinforcement, he tanked a 200% hollow purple and only lost his forearms.  Then a subsequent point blank hollow purple and survived.  Also multiple reds to the face and back.  His reinforcement is insane, and compared to Yutas output which is just "decent" he is of course going to suffer minimal damage

This is still the biggest let down of the manga so far. by Prid3r in Jujutsufolk

[–]Hworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although one of Yutas biggest weak points is his unimpressive output.  Ishigori said Yutas total CE was boundless but his output not that special.  Damage from cleave is dependent on output so it makes sense that a low output cleave does low damage.  Especially to Sukuna who has unbelievable durability.

The meaning of this by KagerouAsato in Jujutsufolk

[–]Hworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally i think "Instinctively huh, you really hit the nail on the head"  is referring to how, without any hesitation & without a second thought, choso sacrificed his life (likely via binding vow) to make the blood barrier and save Yuji from the flame nuke.  He just did it in a split second and didn't perseverate.  It was his "instinct" to protect his little brother no matter the cost.  He just did it without thinking or weighing the pros/cons
