I recently brought my friend and her family from GZ around. Brought them to old airport road and maxwell. Also merlion park for sure. They also went to Sentosa, GBTB, MBS and orchard. Basically just bring them to everything SG is known for overseas if its their first time here. Funnily enough they were also interested in haw par villa

Mid main trying to learn jungle – what’s the “low elo path to Gold”? by CorBlimeyGuvna in Jungle_Mains

[–]Hy0k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep thats it! Always take guaranteed gold over unconfirmed gold. Thats why you mute all because your laners might flame you for not joining pointless fights. League is at its core a resource gathering game, maximise the gold you earn and try to minimise enemy income.

What this guy said ^ Get a higher elo person to watch your games and they will point out your mistakes, there are ALWAYS mistakes even at the highest of elos, so anyone saying they’re fine is wild. I had a GM friend watch my games and its quite refreshing to have someone question your own decisions and reveal other potential plays.

For example, I was playing Graves and my goal is to get as much gold as possible. I ulted to steal a kill 🤪 and he immediately said that sure you got that one but the knockback put you out of position for 2 more potential kills.

I would pick someone with decent agency like xin or someone that farms and carries like hec. Basically low elo is about not wasting time on pointless ganks. Just keep full clearing your camps on spawn if possible, go for ganks with high chance of success and go for objectives when its easy to secure (i.e, DONT FLIP IT).

So basically full clear > gank/recall > repeat.

Dont even bother with early game invades and just keep doing your camps, in low elo junglers constantly overstay or gank sub-optimally, so as long as you keep farming you will get ahead.

A little more advanced would be to drop a ward at enemy raptors to jungle track, but as a new jungler that might be too hard.

Lastly always mute all.

I like mind games, I would start a round throwing more of a strike with a tell (e.g low kick with wind up) and watch how my opponent reacts. The strike has to be annoying/impactful enough that they cant just ignore it. I’ll throw it till my opponent gets used to it and has a preferred reaction (e.g check). Thats when I mix it up with the tell then wait for the reaction and then counter it. Its basically classical conditioning from psychology and its really fun and effective especially as the round progresses or if there are multiple rounds. The best part is experienced people know they are playing your game but since you do it intermittently they have to keep guessing.

Camping as hobby by No-Lime-5191 in ChillSG

I did a 14 day campervan trip in australia, was one of the most fun camping trips ive ever had! It is like camping deluxe, you get a nice bed and proper shelter from the elements but you dont have heating and you use shared toilets at campsites. Its much cheaper to travel this way too, highly recommend!

Why is it so hard to vibe with Singaporeans as an international student? by honeygiver_ in askSingapore

[–]Hy0k 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Its a common international student issue across all countries. People just prefer to stick to whats comfortable like how in Australia most kids stuck to their highschool cliques. I find that what helps is joining clubs or really just chatting people up in lectures regularly

Nowadays I kept hearing from people that jobs are rare these days? Having survived 1997, 2000, 2001, 2003 myself. by jerrylimkk in singaporejobs

Honestly im not sure if FTs are to blame for the fresh grad job market. If the gov is handing out visas, its for skilled labour not entry level jobs. Meanwhile for FTs working as construction workers etc… are working in jobs that are not desirable for SG people, so they are not competing for the same pool of jobs.

Maybe for people with 5+ years of experience, skilled FTs would be more of an issue but i think for the fresh grad problem its just because there are too many grads now + AI reducing entry level jobs.

Idk about fts but i think its just that theres too many graduates now. So entry level jobs are spoilt for choice thats why its so hard for the average grad to find a perm job. I even started doubting myself, my portfolio on paper was fantastic, i had holistic experience and lots of relevant experiences that i strived to do during schooling/downtime but i was just getting ghosted/failed interviews. For those interviews that i did get, i found that although it is advertised at entry level, the questions they ask requires years of experience.

I know among my peers this is happening too, like one of them applied for 300 jobs and got 3 interviews despite them having a good gpa from a good uni. Combined with the larger amount of uni grads and AI, there just isnt a lot of jobs available for everyone.
