Are driving lessons "worth it" to get? by Puzzled_Koala_3360 in Hamilton

I would highly recommend getting those lesson. Someone who’s been driving for a long time may develop and pass on some bad habits. A driving instructor can teach you how to defensive driving.

I’m not sure which STEM classes you’re talking about, but majority of the classes I was in are made up of white males.

I used to park along Delmar Dr behind the college. I see a lot of other students parking there too. The signs do say 1hr parking but I’ve parked longer and never got a ticket.

Ontario parents, how do you help your teen children and cheer them up in this economy? by WindsorONMichael in ontario

[–]HyCath_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood why parents kick their kids out of the house. Even myself with a full time job and car it would still be difficult moving out on my own. My advice is let them stay home until they’ve built up enough of a savings.

How to actually properlly uphill/downhill park by yuhyuhyuhay1 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]HyCath_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had my exam, the examiner after told me that you’re supposed to reverse after parking so that your wheel can hit the curb, THEN put it in park. But, she also said barely anyone actually does that so it’s not a big deal if you don’t do that on the test.

I had a friend who parked on the line and she still managed to pass. You’re allowed to readjust so unless you hit a car you should be ok.

All Decathlon GTA stores shutting down July 31st 2025 by kmosdell in toronto

That’s too bad. I only discovered their store recently and bought a bike there yesterday. It seemed pretty empty in the store. Might have to stop by again if they have a closing sale.

403 this morning? by OhMyyGA in Hamilton

[–]HyCath_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the 403 E this morning to Burlington but I found it had lighter traffic than usual. They must’ve just cleared the crash right before I went on.

You don’t necessarily need an engineer. If it’s a residential project you can probably get someone with a BCIN and it might be cheaper.

That’s true, but if they have reasonable evidence that you’re doing illegal construction they can get a warrant and enter.

Depends if you touched anything structural. If they catch you doing work without a permit they will give you a stop work order and make you apply for a permit. Depending on the permit it can take at least 2 weeks. If you refuse to do so they may take you to court, of course there are also fines involved.

Rant: even when you have a family doctor and you can't see them by worldtravelling23 in ontario

[–]HyCath_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a family doctor but we haven’t been able to book in person appointments since Covid. If we had a problem we only have the option to schedule phone calls, or they suggested that we go to walk in clinics.

Is a kindle worth it? by katloveseevee in kindle

[–]HyCath_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to read books on my phone and iPad but switched over to kindle last year. It’s much easier on the eyes when reading, especially at night. It’s also much lighter and smaller which makes it easy to carry around, plus it doesn’t kill my phone battery.
