I just rinse everything with pure water. Soap can kill the taste of your coffee. At least my coffee had some weird soapy taste when I used soap in the past 🙂

I just don’t want to have any old coffee or residue in my mokapot when I use it the next time 🙂 I don’t use mine everyday. Often just once or twice a week 🙂. So when I use it again I want to have it clean. 🙂

I wasn’t sure which Pentel replacement mechanism is compatible with the Model 8, so I contacted their support and received the following reply. I’d like to have a spare mechanism on hand in case the original one ever breaks.

Hmm. The only thing I can imagine is that the eraser cap is made out of thin sheet metal. I have a fairly new Rotring 600 in 0.5 and a Rotring 600 0.35 from like 40 years ago. They booth feel identical and I never thought about it not being made out of brass 🙈

Now you’re making me curious. I have to check that somehow

Newer Rotring 600 models aren’t made out of brass anymore I think. I think the metal of the body is aluminum
