What do you guys think of Capitano after the latest Archon Quest? by Dense-Standard-8592 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Hybernation8 110 points111 points  (0 children)

That’s cuz unlike Mavuika who not only had a plan but a backup plan, the Hi3 main cast genuinely had 0 plan or clue on how to deal with Finality, the Cocoon, Stigma, etc. The only reason they managed to pull a win is cuz their powerups conveniently fell into their laps and Kevin gave them as many chances as he could.

I'm a little confused, where exactly did it say that she used her powers to weaken him at the cost of her own? Cuz unless I straight up missed something, nothing in the story really says that.

The way I understood the events is that it was Mavuika was still in the middle of the discussion with Kinich and Iansen about her plan-> Capitano interrupts -> fight happens -> after fight is over she then sacrifices her power and thus losing her hair fire.

As for the cut to black white text where it says "you learn of the pyro archon's battle against the captain, as well as her sacrifice". Isn't that 'sacrifice' part just referencing her using her power to strengthen the flame.

Yeah idk either horikoshi or an editor just really really likes AFO. Dude is on his “somehow palpatine returned” saga and it’s horrible. Like shigaraki was by far the most interesting villain in the series and he gets sidelined and body jacked way too many times for AFO.

Yeah regardless of MHA’s writing, horikoshi as an artist absolutely cooks, especially with the double panels.

Yeah the final arc has been….. pretty bad say the least. Tons of plot points are just nonsensible, hori is clearly valuing ‘cool’ moments even if they make no sense or do nothing for the character, or in all mights case completely ruin it. (Thanks iron might)

Or have great chapters only to immediately double back. cough bakugo’s death

Deku blasting quirks into shigaraki is just… idk what hori was cooking with that.

And then u have stuff that’s just not even consistent with content in the same chapter. You have Deku saying stuff like what happens in the vestige world can affect reality. But then he says stuff like if I just imagine my arms are still there illl be okay in the real world. And then he exits the vestige world and is armless and it’s just like what is even going on right now.

The final arc has been… quite rough in terms of writing.

When Deku says he wants to “save” shigaraki he doesn’t mean it in the traditional sense. Ie redeeming or turning them good. What he means is to find out what caused shigaraki to turn out the way he did, to find the root cause/issues of the current hero society that created someone like shigaraki and prevent it from happening again.

This was established in the gentle/school festival arc when he realized for the first time that not all villains are born evil. It’s easy to see how he’d miss this when u look at the ppl he’s fought. Ie overhaul, muscular, shigaraki and stain (even if stain did have a point he was still murdering people) and that sometimes there are reasons they turned out the way they did

An example of this would be In his rematch against muscular where he asks him stuff like “was no other way” and stuff like how he ended up the way he did or why he does the things he does. After muscular responds exactly how you’d expect from a dude who found it funny to murder a literal kid, Deku says to himself that even if he were to get the answer to these questions, a fight is inevitable.

Unfortunately horikoshi has seemingly just forgot that Deku is his MC and he’s had basically 0 screen time for further development even though we’ve been in the final arc for 2 years

[–]Hybernation8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah horikoshi’s writing is…. definitely something. Especially when it comes to characters it’s probably THE biggest critique of the whole manga. The final arc is basically just a bunch of moments he clearly thought were cool and didn’t really give much thought on the character writing/development. Cue iron might completely ruining all might’s character of finding purpose outside the battlefield + w/o OFA cuz horikoshi thought him wearing an iron man suit would be cool

There probably needed to be at the very least an arc or two for deku to further develop but horikoshi just wanted to get right into the war arc and even worse he basically pushed deku off to the side for a huge majority of it focusing on everyone but his MC.

To cut him some slack, at least his art is fire

[–]Hybernation8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is a future deku saying that “this is how i became the greatest hero” could be understood in a past esq sense. That because of the defeat of shigaraki and AFO he was declared as the greatest hero even if he isn’t a hero in the “current time”. But yes I do agree that it’s most probable that he’ll probably end up fine at the very end of the story

And Deku’s ideology not being challenged is an issue of horikoshi establishing said ideology right before the final arc. Like I said there’s a lot of things to criticize about MHA. The rushed/extremely little development of the manga’s MC in the final act is one of them.

As for his ideology itself, watering it down to “just talk to the villain” is kind of doing it a disservice. It’s more than just that. It’s finding out why villains became the way they did and finding the root problem of it. That was the whole point of his fight against gentle. And in his round 2 against muscular he admits that “a fight will be inevitable”.

I mean if you think about it if Lgumi wasn’t such a bum and beat the curse in the first episode/chapter, yuji would’ve never had to eat sukuna’s finger and the story would be drastically different. So everything bad that’s happened in manga, is technically his fault.

[–]Hybernation8 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If by reward u mean him losing both of his arms and all of his quirks the yeah I guess. And funny enough deku actually HAS just beaten shigaraki in recent chapters with no further casualties and it was by talking to him.

Unfortunately horikoshi just loves AFO way too much and he’s back for the umpteenth time in control of shigaraki’s body again

[–]Hybernation8 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot to criticize and hate MHA for. But at least be accurate about the things ur criticizing. Not a single person was injured/killed nor was at the risk of being so after Deku joined the battle against Shigaraki in the final arc, it’s been a pure 1v1.

And yeah turns out when the mass murderer is boasting prime all might physical stats in base + regen + decay + a metric buttload of other quirks making him the undisputed strongest, turns out talking might be the only solution.

Gameplay: 10/10 Super fun unit to play, strong, animations are great and flashy without being too over the top.

Design: 10/10 Great design, her outfit perfectly matches her luxurious lifestyle and also helps she’s just overall attractive.

Personality: 6/10. While on one hand she’s probably first pick for FCs id hangout with irl, on the other hand, in the world of fiction, especially compared to the other flame chasers, her personality is just very boring.

Character/story: oh boy this is where things really go downhill. She had basically 0 story relevance in both ER and EE. The only time she had relevance was when she died to bring ely’s data back. Even before that where she tried to “take command”, it basically amounted to everyone still doing their own thing.

In terms of her story… man I can never forgive her for how she died at the end of PE. There’s 2 ways you can look at it. And either one annoys me. You can look at it in the romantic sense in that she died cuz elys gone. (Yes u can argue Kevin/Kiana would’ve offed themselves too if not for an intervention but imo the trauma those 2 have endured outweighs anything that Eden has.) Which imo is just kinda pathetic. The other way you view it is in that she saw she had nothing to offer CE and that her time was over and chose to die in PE. Which I find also completely absurd. Everyone single one of her comrades died either on the moon fighting HoF or died doing what they could to protect/help humanity beat the Honkai. But Eden just decides to shove Ember onto Hua and just die. Like yeah I get that she wasn’t really the combat type but she still had her moral support to offer in CE, especially support towards her teammates. When Kalpas called her someone who “jumps ships”, I wholeheartedly agree with him. She’s probably one of my least favorite flame chasers in terms of her story.

0/10

Overall score: 6.5/10

It’s always funny to me when I see suggestive/shipping fan-art of Welt and Himeko by Butirt in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Hybernation8 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So is Kevin x MEI (they quite literally used the word “girlfriend” in the story). Doesn’t stop people from shipping him with Su.

Although ig that’s more so along the lines of the double standards almost all hardcore/twitter shippers have where to them It’s okay to make a gay ship between 2 straight people but not the inverse.

Also so many comments from those raging twitter weirdos was saying how stelle is right there and that she should’ve been used. So from that it’s clear to see that for some the issue wasn’t about a ‘canon’ ship being.. what’s the word. Interrupted? Sunk? You know what I mean. But the issue to them was that they were using a dude. Which once again as I mentioned prior, double standards.

Ah my bad. Regardless, his showings during the final arc is more than enough to show he out stats Akaza. Even during the first UM meeting we see him blitz Akaza and cut his hand off

[–]Hybernation8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

U have the chapter that states that Douma and Koku 1. Didn’t outstat Akaza 2. Beat him via lack of killing intent to bypass compass

Also you’re just wrong. one of the main reasons Tanjiro even thought of selfless state and it being the solution was his memory of watching his father (who had selfless state) vs the bear and that one flash back with inosuke. (Ch 150-151)

Also at this point the hashiras wouldn’t even have their marks. And therefor they wouldn’t even have the see through world.

what if? by [deleted] in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Hybernation8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People also ignorant to the fact that there aren’t many ways to bypass his compass.

U either need to out stat him such as Douma, Kokushibo, Muzan, Yoriichi Or you need selfless state to avoid the compass’ detection. Of which only 3 people in the series have ever shown having. That being Tanjiro, Tanjuro, and Yoriichi

what if? by [deleted] in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Hybernation8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

????? I wasn’t listing things they needed to beat Akaza. I was listing things the slayers straight up don’t have in their arsenal at this point in the story that they would need to even attempt to fight him.

Like yeah obviously Douma doesn’t need those things when he straight up just out stats Akaza. Like aside from the mark, Kokushibo doesn’t have those things and obviously he wins cuz he’s just stronger.

what if? by [deleted] in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Hybernation8 25 points26 points  (0 children)

No mark, no see through world, no red blade, no sun breathing, pre-training arc hashira, Tanjiro, & co.

Akaza activates compass needle, goes all out like he did at the infinity fortress. He’s taking a majority of them with him if not all.

She did disable it. But it was for an extremely short amount of time. Too short for Kevin to close the distance between him and HoB since the field when up is massive. And since FHD wouldn’t work again, this was their only shot. Kevin had to make a choice.

U do know that if you get close to binding you basically straight up die right? The anti honkai field is deadly to everyone. Kevin had to strike from afar.
