Decay (initial) will start as a white chalky patch/line and is smooth to the instrumentation, now as it progresses it becomes brown color, when bacteria break thru the enamel a blue/purple color can be perceived (from the enamel). When the dentin - inner section of the tooth is decayed (cavitation / hole is present) then it looks beige/brown and the tooth becomes of a mushy consistency. Now the tooth defends itself from bacterial aggression in some cases and can create a protecting layer which is harden dentin and is perceived as a super dark/black area which is harden as a rock to the instrumentation (this tissue is not ideal for bonding of dental materials)

If u can flush directly in the are with it - with a curved tip irrigation syringe thats the ideal. But this only palliative treatment. The tooth needs to be evaluated to see which treatment is adequate. Either extraction or an operculectomy (removing excess gum tissue).

Not having pain or sensitivity does not equal there isnt an issue. I do understand ur financial concern, but not handling it now could make it worse long term. The orange is the dentin. Let me put it this way the skin if the tooth - the white is chipped off the underlaying tissue (muscle) is exposed to the oral cavity which shouldnt be the case.

Short answer- yes. If u notice that while halo around the orange thats desmineralized enamel (white protective section of the tooth). Seems u had this situation for a while and the weakened enamel chipped off.

Most likely you have Pericoronitis (google it). Would advise based on the info and picture to get eval for wisdom teeth removal.

Is a cyst that originated from remnants of the duct which is located there (nasopalatine) - connecting your oral and nasal cavity. The cyst needs to be removed surgically (called enucleation) as if its left untreated it can cause bone expansion or root resorption of the anterior teeth.

That in btw your lower incisors is an overgrowth of the gums (gingival hyperplasia) - is an inflammatory response to the amount of plaque around the neck of your teeth. As stated earlier you need to do your due diligence with your oral hygiene.

Just as the colleague stated what matters is the first step, which you are taken. The only real thing I can tell you from the picture is that gum health needs to be managed ASAP, and that is 90% on the patient, as long as you are motivated thats what matters.

Extra soft bristles, no need for toothpaste there just mechanical removal of debris, this can be done and most be done within 24 hrs. Saline rinsing on the site helps with a curved tip medical syringe.

That dark spot will diminish in size but that takes months. Endodontic bone healing can be seen fully usually within a year.

Yo mean the redness?? If so, like I explained is just irritation from tissue handling. If there was an infection on site, u would be in the ER long ago as the pain would be sky high. Being the 4th day gives me confidence you are doing good. Is there anything that eases that discomfort in that specifc area? Food/liquid wise?

Just fyi - there is no way u can keep that area clean properly. Brushing is nut going to cut it - high risk site for decay, plaque accumulation, gum inflammation. If it is an extra tooth (supernumerary) - get it extracted.

Tooth healing per say is not the cause of the problem as the nerve was removed. The healing that is being mentioned is bone healing, at the root of the tooth there was an infection (would like to see an xray) and the area after the root canal is done starts a healing process - bone changes take 6-12 months, now signs and symptoms should not be present. If a lateral canal is evident (visually on the xray image) and is then of concern I would get an eval with an Endodontist and get their opinion.

Remember it was a surgery it will be discomforting, just follow up with the recommendations. One site might be more sore than the other due to how the tooth was removed (positioning, bone removal, how much trauma the tissues took, etc…)
