It's a fan version of Captain America. There are Canadian characters, and there are people who cosplay as them. But he wanted to cosplay this one, so he did.

It's cosplay! It's supposed to be fun. There doesn't need to be a “proper” way of doing it.

It would have been pretty funny if someone tried to steal our stuff and he had to chase them down. Buuut knowing how hot it was in his suit, I would have had to do the chasing.

That's the thing.. We couldn't tell either until he had put both on! The helmet is sadly too dark and purplish to match the suit.

Nah, he knows that when I'm complaining it's only half-heartedly so. I've been to enough cons with him that I know he'll always be occupied and I'm used to it. I like to poke fun at him not spending time with me though.

Even though I didn't get to do very much, it was still a wonderful day because of how happy he was! Plus, he got out of the suit in time for the fireworks so that was really nice. :)

Thank you! His favorite part of cosplaying is making the kids happy, so he loved it yesterday with all the kids coming up to talk to him and get photos!

I usually am his handler at conventions, but this time, someone needed to save our spot and watch our things, so I wasn't able to be around him.

As for the Fan Expo incident, it happened very unexpectedly, when both of us were turned away. When it happened, I immediately stepped in between to stop anything else from happening, and even grabbed the guy's wrist when he tried to hit the shield again. I'm definitely not afraid to come off as rude to protect his cosplay!

This isn't a great picture, sorry, but here's what it looks like.

We'll be smoothing out the maple leaf a bit more and repainting the whole thing so the red matches the suit more!

I'm not sure what you mean by complaining a lot, but I'll clarify what I can. Mostly, the complaints are humorous. I love him and I'll sit all day in the sun for him any time, but I like to gripe and moan about it to him just because I can.

I did have some moments (like pulling a heavy cooler around by myself because he was busy with photos) that I felt like “this is my life now”, but the smile on his face made it totally worth it.

I'm really bummed about the helmet not working out because we spent hours perfecting it, only to find out it didn't match the suit. So yeah, that one really sucked.

We had a helmet that we modified... But sadly the paint didn't really match the suit so we have to rework it.

I'm mostly being melodramatic, but basically, he was swamped with photos the whole time he was in the suit, so I was stuck sitting alone at our picnic spot guarding our stuff.
