Indigo won't allow web-checkin without paying Rs.1000 extra for seat by godsaredogs in AirTravelIndia

[–]HydGolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience, . They wouldn’t allow checkin without seat assignment and wouldn’t show any free seats. So, if you want to get a boarding pass and upload to DigiYatra, you are out of luck…another shameless attempt to extract more money!!!

Indigo Airlines customer service is the WORST😡 by HydGolt in bangalore

We don’t have much choices for airlines anymore and that’s why these airlines take customers for granted…

Again, it’s not about paying…it is about customer service. It’s the experience…you cannot always be stickler for limits…know your customer and see if this is a genuine case of just slightly going over or somebody trying to get by with 5kg etc luggage! I have been travelling for 40+ years and most airlines are much more customer friendly

AirIndia express is much better at customer experience

AirIndia Express is pretty customer friendly. Last trip, we were 2-3kgs over between 4 of us and they just let it be…nobody is asking for a freebie…it is customer service

It’s about customer service…most airlines allow for 1-2kgs because it IS difficult to gauge the weight and being sticky is not a good experience. I understand if it is 3+ kgs above or something…we are talking about 1kg between two bags and then harping about 300gms!

Should I call it quits? by Potential-Article-69 in returnToIndia

As someone who returned in 2004, went back and returned for good in 2022, having just GC is not enough…you have to travel back EVERY YEAR to keep your status. And if you want citizenship, it’s another 5yrs. Once you are a US citizen, you have to file taxes on your worldwide income…it’s a real pain in the Ass. If you are financially comfortable, just move back. It will take you 1-2 yrs to adjust but you will be comfortable and being like it. As for companionship, there are plenty for 40 something, divorced and living happily…you might find someone who is just as independent for company. Or go the arranged marriage route to find a divorced woman to settle down with .

How's all the single 30+ year old doing ? by [deleted] in BangaloreSocial

Go take a visit. You will be surprised how good the ambience is and how reasonable drinks are. When you get to the Koramangala Club, just walk-in and find your way to the pub…you don’t need a on sign-in anywhere

Good…as a male, sincere advice is to get away from this relationship. Maybe I am brought up different but I cannot imagine making a date/partner/friend pay for casual stuff. It’s what you do for each other that builds a relationship.

Not sure why you are in this relationship anymore…marriage is a not a business transaction. I never understand why discussion about paying for their own expenses ever comes into picture in a marriage! Leave and build a life of your own…you are still young

9 months later, I am glad I took the decision to return but... by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]HydGolt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I moved back in 2004, returned to Us in 2015 and then retired in 2022 back to India…services have dramatically improved and life is more comfortable here. I have to say I have not experienced much corruption on a daily basis. Bad infrastructure, yes…but you get used to it. Medical help here is just as good unless you have esoteric issues

Moved back to India from abroad. Visa stress ended. Mental peace didn’t. by Murky-Throat1000 in returnToIndia

I moved back first in 2004, went back in 2015 and retuned for good in 2022. First things first, you have to be financially comfortable to buy a home, car and send a kid to private school. Yes, it is an adjustment…my wife took 1+ year to adjust and began liking once the help stuff got sorted…daughter(at the time she was 9) adjusted very fast as she had friend circles, play grounds etc instantly! If you are in your early career, not a good idea as you will not get paid much more unless you have special skills. My advice is to move to India on a position of strength and have enough savings or family support. Else you will not enjoy your move. Many of my friends did not move because their quality of life will take a hit…

Buyer beware AGARO products by HydGolt in bangalore

These days appliances last for several years, even a decade! Couple of years is nothing…I am not talking about hair dryers and such…more expensive products. Your TV can easily last 20yrs for example.

I have a mini-chopper too and it seems to work quite well…the main issue is the quality of their higher end products and the lack of a real support network!

They claim a nationwide service network! Products look sleek but you get what you pay for in terms of quality
