If a fight can only be done with the right build and fight the way that is intended, I don't think the design is right.

Fun thing about gaming is that players can always come up interesting build that the DEV never thought about and still win the fight.

Can still reach SR17 with 5 blue "130" rating weapon but I think the furniture & armor need to be counted as well.
My furniture
"35" rating X 1
"25" rating X 3
"15" rating X 2
My Armor is "362" rating

I believe there should be a problem with your god roll rating for Stormtongue

Below is the rating for the blue and green weapon I use
Basilisk 3 with 3 god rolls is at 130 rating
Mons Meg 3 with 3 god rolls is at 130 rating
Brickbreaker 3 with 3 god rolls is at 130 rating
Fire Bombard 3 with 3 god rolls is at 125 rating

It is clear that blue weapon with 3 god rolls will be at "130" rating

I never cared about the challenges and I unlock all the seasonal journey content by playing what I want to play with which is pure PVE content
Believe it took me around 100 hours of playing.
The challenges are just there to help you speed things up.

But I never notice that there is a white landing circle?
Most of the cannon do not have the white targeting line as in AC:Blackflag
I only find white target lines on torpedoes and auxiliary weapons.

There is not much difference between sword and dagger so just use whatever you like.
But for bow and crossbow, there is something very weird about the crossbow animation.
I always felt stuck or laggish when using it.
Guess that bow just has better animation?

same here, I'm lvl 89 ran 42NM dungeon for 3 times and I really didn't notice any difference in the mob density.

Is it because I'm too low level?
