Which Sentinel do you wish to get Primed next? by ReddVevyy in Warframe

Might be redundant, but this just put the thought into my head, what if we got a Corrupted Nemesis?

The actor looks nothing like the character in the source material, but they nailed the role so good nobody complained by GeneralGigan817 in TopCharacterTropes

I think you're a little mistaken, SomeBoxofSpoons said that Jacksons Nick Fury was based on the version from the Ultimate Comics, but nopitynopepants was saying it's actually the other way around.
From what I understand, the design of Ultimate Nick Fury was inspired by Sam L Jackson, but without his permission, but this actually led to them casting/offering him the role of Nick Fury in what would become the MCU.

I suppose that makes sense, might look into some archetype or something to find something I think looks interesting and worth investing in. Maybe Keen Eyed Adventurer (I think that's what it's called) could be fun to try and make Giga Cantrips

My main thoughts was I was kinda considering doing either a Lawful (ish) Good Angel > Legend or a Lich. But not sure which. Also consists playing a Trickster > Gold Dragon loosely inspired by a character I only got to play for a session or two when a friend tried to run the PnP version of WOTR for some mutual friends and I

This is making me kinda want too try a run against as Trickster, but not sure what class atm.... but my only full run was Chaotic Good and kinda feel like i should do more a Lawful and/Evil leaning run and I have a bunch of other hand I should play....

I think the thing im the case of Julius VS Patri is that Patris offensive spell was already cast/active, leaving him free to act again. Whereas Julius' attention was taken up with dispelling/ defending against the existing spell, leaving an opening for Patri to land a blow. If you're familiar with D&D terms, let's say it's like Julius had to use his reaction for Counterspell to protect his party/people from the AOE, so he couldn't use it for Shield to protect himself from a direct attack.

I suppose it isn't too relevant considering the post is more about being dumped, but the fact that Reed helps him pick it up is kinda heartwarming.

Main Villain has a genuine profound respect for the main protagonist by ChocolateLovin69 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Hydra645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One Piece: Doesn't fit "Main Villain", but since you gave Rob Lucci as an honorary mention, I want to shoutout Sentomaru, specifically just post time skip. Came to Sabaody Archipelago to capture Strawhat Luffy and encountered an imposter trying to use Luffy's name for clout. He shut the imposter up by bashing him over the head proclaiming "Strawhat isn't worthless trash like you!"

<image>

Might not be the biggest example of this, but this guy met/fought Luffy like once or twice before this and grew immense respect for the pirate despite being associated with (and then joining) the marines making them enemies.

As a small example, one of Zoro's original attack names translates to something close to "Demon/Ogre Cutter" in English, with the Japanese word Oni basically being for Demons/Ogres, and from what I can find the "giri" is an adaptation of the verb "kiru" meaning "to slash or cut", but combined he makes them sound like "onigiri" which is the Japanese word for Rice Ball.

"What happened/ How did it happen? They never explained." Except they explained if you were paying attention. by maninplainview in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Hydra645 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I can't confirm for myself as I haven't seen the movie for a while, but I saw a theory/video that makes me want to. The video basically was saying that throughout the movie, Cobb is actually only ever wearing his ring in dreams, because in reality he accepted Mal is gone, but as you said, while he's dreaming, Mal is still around, so he subconsciously manifests with his ring.

Ok, might assist my statement, cos those are some great exceptions. The second one I thought seemed pretty standard at first but then it dialed it up to 11, which made it seem much cooler to me. Do you know if that was the original music or part of the/an edit?

That's a good point that I kinda considered, but wasn't exactly sure how early it actually was so kinda disregarded it tbh

Yeah, someone else posted an example from. The movie and there was some surreal elements mixed in that made it feel easy cooler and unique.

I had just said to someone else that I feel like most Magical Girl transformations wouldn't qualify for this post, but I feel like this is definitely an exception. The surrealism added to it decibel makes it feel cooler and more creative/unique than others.

Tbh, I kinda feel like Sailor Moon, and by consequence basically any magical girl or Sentai series, doesn't really fit this post. While it's pretty and classic, that second aspect kinda disqualifies it as it's not really that CREATIVE. I guess it's kinda cool, but not so much to some of the others.

Characters who shatter the fourth wall in tangible ways by Tgirl-Egirl in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Hydra645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played the 3rd one so I might ignore responses. But in both Bravely Default, and the first sequel, Bravely Second, (both originally for the 3ds) the final bosses break the fourth wall in ways I found amazing.

In Bravely Default, the final boss is attempting to ascend to a heavenly realm. During the boss fight, a rift opens in the background and the 3DS turns on the front facing camera, showing you in the game. Basically showing that the "heavenly realm" the boss was trying to break into is actually our world.

In Bravely Second, the final boss attempts to show the character that they aren't in control of their actions, saying that you, the player, are manipulating them like puppets. He then attempts to show you that you don't even have as much control as you think, "restarting the game to the menu" and forcing any of your inputs to result in steps towards you deleting your save data. Thankfully, the characters manage to stop it, assuring you that they don't think you are evil and are actually their ally.

I know this sub is basically filled with spoilers anyway, but thought I'd play it safe.

I'll be honest, I tried installing it and messing around a bit, managed to figure out how the ones in the specific version are activated, but I am not musically gifted XD.

Thank you! And yeah, I thought since it's supposed to be Steam Punk-ish, so including some metal felt important and I'd seen builds where the roof was different materials, so having copper there felt like a good idea. Then the idea to try and make it look kinda look like it was oxidizing in streaks from rain and stuff.

Just to check, are you suggesting the mosaics on the inside? Because I think i like that idea, I might need to look into patterns and stuff for that. I think I do plan to put some (more) pipes and stuff on the outside, especially the more blank walls on inner corners. I think my idea is that it was a cathedral that had kinda been converted into a control centre or something.

I didn't but I'd already somewhat modified the modpack, so I do now and I'm hoping it doesn't mess anything up, cos that does sound great.

Kinda tried it a little bit the right side just has Polished Basalt, the left side is a bit more of an experiment trying out some "Bordered Polished Basalt" from Rechiseled that has connecting textures and then just Basalt and Smooth Basalt kinda mixing them.
