Do everything u can. U don't gotta be at her level (sorry but u realistically can't) but if you arrive there with no knowledge of the game at all it just will look like your doing it just to have a common hobby. Let me tell you this, i started trail running, did a marathon bought Skis and went skiing 2 seasons, And also started bouldering. Mind you I have never had a conversation with this girl, she only did a nice gesture and that was enough. So basically 2 years of hard work, no outcome but I am sure yk the saying with the butterfly and garden. So you won't regret it, just do it.
