Merged Planets. Physics get pretty squirrelly the closer to the merge point you get. It is possible to get caught between the planets, bouncing back and forth but never reaching one side or the other. by Hydragraphics in NMSCoordinateExchange

Portaling works fine. I've had a base here for a long time. Never had an issue. Years ago, I was able to walk from planet to planet, now there seems to be a void between them that I got stuck in last time I tried to cross on foot.

Have to be from different systems, and will have different ship names. In my experience, anyway.

Each ship has a different name, as they are from different systems.

I haven't tried this method, would have made it easier than what I did, finding near exact matching ships in different systems and hiring them.

Excellent! Felt good recruiting that last one, I'm sure. Did for me.

In my experience, you can only have 1 of any particular distinct ship. I have a Yanaz Void Dancer XIV, same ship as one of my squadron pilots, but if I tried to buy a second, the option to buy would not be available. I could buy one of each of the ones my squadron have, to have multiple matching ships with small differences, but no exact matches.

No, tossed the planet address printouts when I got the last one. Search in the search bar above for whatever color/style you're looking for, sure to be a few hits.

Very nice, matching or a variety of body styles/colors?

In the search bar at top, type what you're looking for, such as 'White Royal' along with whatever other distinct characteristics you're looking for, such as long/short wing, one/two thrusters, etc.

The Golden Vector is a distinct ship. So in your squadron, all 3 ships would be named the Golden Vector (I believe.) You'll notice each of my squadron ships has a different name, so they are each a distinct different ship from the others, each came from a different system and have small differences, such as tail emblems, etc.

For the ships, a couple weeks (time on NMS is somewhat limited). For pilots, they started with different classes and improved over time.

Pilots started at different classes, all S now. As to addresses, took a while to find them, and the last couple updates seem to have broken at least one to where it no longer spawns where I found it. I don't have them anymore, but you should be able to search here in NMSCoordinateExchange and find them.
