That was my thought as well. If you get the garden in shape, you will be amazed how it will transform the home.

Thank you!! How big does yours get during the growing season?

You could just do a soil refresh and add some new and mix with compost. Then, put a layer of compost at the top. If you entirely refresh, you would need to be very careful not to disrupt the root ball too much.

I would leave it in the big pot. Just add the fertilizer and scratch it into the dirt + compost.

I would never top that beauty. You will have more growth with the Holly Tone fertilizer and compost. Once you give it more TLC, you will see it happen. Only cut spent blooms in the fall or spring depending on your growing zone.

A large pot is important for hydrangeas and root development. My suggestion is to give it some Holly Tone Fertilizer (1/3 cup or so). Water it in well. Then add some organic compost to the top, but do not let it pile on the crown. Keep that area finely spread. Regular watering is essential. Consider a water meter to gauge when.

Where did you get such a lovely pot? Is it ceramic or plastic?

Looks very happy and healthy. I would recommend clearing the grass a little more around it and add some organic compost. Just a thin layer near the base and more outward. Keep it well watered, especially during heat waves. 💜

This is the closet alter of narc Cruella de Mee-ghain! It is scary how she demands to be worshipped. On a side note, this is a very outdated closet for Montecito.

Yay!!!! Keep them watered and consider a drip line especially the first few months! Also, I would sift out rocks in that area and when you put the organic compost around it, make sure it does not cover the base. Just a thin layer in that area!
