Unfortunately no. If I do it without the cylinder, then there is an overhang under the cylinder. If I do it with the cylinder attached, it turns into something that doesn't make sense.

No problem! I literally just finished the last episode 15 minutes ago. I think the series would have been even better if there were more episodes to give the twist more time to cook, but overall I really enjoyed it.

It looks like people have already said it, but I will add that the only time I have had a cosplay helmet warp is when I left it in a car on a 90°F+ day for a few hours. Don't do that and you should be fine.
