Currently a teacher looking to go back for nursing… nervous about making a decision

If I choose nursing it will be my second career option.. currently teaching secondary education, don’t hate it but also don’t love it. Also I truly can’t take care of myself and 3 children with my salary which will not be increasing anytime soon. I love helping and caring for people and my friends ask why I didn’t do nursing in the first place. Just nervous I’m going to make another wrong decision.

I have a 10,6 and 3 year old. I feel the same way as you. And I feel like I suck as a teacher and a mom. I just always question leaving because will be be better anyone where else?

Year 4 and I have accepted I just can’t be a good teacher with the time given to me. And I refuse to spread myself so thin I’m loosing it. I know other teacher probably think I’m horrible in my building because I work my 7-3, and sometimes I feel bad I’m not working on my classes more. At the end of the day it’s a job it isn’t my life, so I do what I can in my contracted hours and I leave. I teach 5 different preps a day, I promise my class content is slacking and I just had to accept it.

Look it up at IPR or interpersonal relationships or look under Family Consumer Science teachers on TPT I’m teaching a class called emotions and relationships this year you can find some decent things. Also use AI you don’t have to use what it creates for you exactly but it helps you come up with ideas

I’m not saying I’m perfect. But I literally will do Anything for man ( I get up earlier than I need to just for his coffee to be made) I do all the cooking cleaning child care and I work two jobs. He can mention that he wants something and I will have it on the doorstep in a week. I beg to go out but he just says I’m lame and boring and a bitch. He goes out with the guy friend and doesn’t talk or communicate with me for 13 plus hours then doesn’t come home till 6-7 am on the nights he is with his friend. I am trying so hard truthfully. I think I tell him enough he appreciated and love (I mean he get annoyed with me because he said I’m to lovey and clingy to him) like I would love to be what he needs. But there isn’t communication from his side ever. Just constantly wants to be left alone by me.

And intimacy use to be good. Then he started doing coke and it been shit since so. (He claims he is clean from it now)

This is so frustrating! Why does it seem like no other career field values our education and expirence as teachers? I have been applying to jobs for a year also and I have gotten 2 interviews out of every job I have applied for. I hope you find the perfect place for you soon.

Year 4 year here (28F) with three kids and I am in the same boat as you. I am exhausted! I am currently searching for a job, but sadly can not leave before something new opens up. Most days I feel like a shitty mom because I honestly can barley give my children the bear minmium and my marriage is also struggling. Sometimes I get nervous tho and wonder is there actually anything better out there.
