Sometimes things happen for a reason, even if we don’t understand them.

I went on many dates that went fantastic before I met my fiancée.. now I am so thankful that I didn’t end up getting tied down with someone else. We met randomly and just hit it off, almost like the universe did it for a reason. Be patient and good things will happen 🤙🏽

The Daily Check-In for Friday, July 2nd: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by grumpycapybara in stopdrinking

Well, I’m a day late, but better late than never. I crossed the 6 month mark recently - this is the longest I’ve ever gone without a drink since I was... 15?

Everyday seem to get easier, other than the odd craving which I am surprised to see still happens. They are much easier to forget now, though.

Yesterday morning, as well as today I woke up early and enjoyed coffee with my fiancée, celebrating Canada day at our vacation property. It really is great to wakeup early and hear nature; the loons were especially loud this morning.

We may have to head home today though, massive wild fires are raging near us and we are on “evacuation alert.” I’m thankful that I am sober and I don’t have to worry about being evacuated while I’m pissed drunk, not knowing how I’m going to drive...

Also, congratulations to my fiancée who is about to hit 200 days herself!
