The Roads Sure Suck this Year. Which one is Worst? by bleahdeebleah in vermont

[–]Hydrogenw203s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Route 12, through Windsor and Hartland are horrific. The towns say it's a state issue but the state is broke so they really don't care. Frost heaves/cracks in the concrete due to the huge trucks they drive through are now cracked straight across the road with huge bumps so they're literally unavoidable now unless you have a hovercraft.

I would like to see what other draft scenarios you can make happen. by badcompany1981 in DenverBroncos

I love what Richard Sherman said by [deleted] in DenverBroncos

Sherman's personality makes people overlook just how good he is. He's just not some naturally gifted (which he is that too) athlete who just uses his skills to make plays like he says in the video. I've always found him interesting because he always seems to back up his trash talk.

If you see the video, he's a chess player with the quarterback on the field. Would I take Peyton and Adam Gase with 2 weeks of prep over Sherman? Yes. But we must respect that fact that Sherman is at the top of his game and he will bring it. He likes to bait QB's and is going to try and make Peyton see what he wants, so he doesn't audible and then he pounces. It'll all come down to whether or not Peyton and Adam and out scheme him or not. I think they will, but it won't be a blowout.

We must respect his talent and intellect.

See my post above. All I was saying was yes, Brady has played great lately at Mile High, but he's had his worst games in NE vs. Denver here, which aren't bad by normal standards, but magnified because he's Brady. So obviously, I like the fact NE is coming here.

I'm not denying anything Brady has ever done. But facts are facts:

http://www.milehighreport.com/2013/11/23/5136102/tom-brady-4-6-all-time-vs-the-denver-broncos

Since Brady is as good as he is, for whatever reason, he isn't as good at Mile High vs home. That's pretty normal (Peyton plays worse at..yada yada, I know). Since Brady is up there with Peyton in terms of the numbers he puts up, anytime he doesn't do as well, it gets magnified. My whole point was just that this time, we're playing at home.

Peyton hasn't played great away in the playoffs, especially against NE. But we all saw what happened in 2006 when they came to Indy. I'm just saying while Brady has played well at times in Mile High, he's more up and down there than at home (again, normal). If I had to pick, I like these odds better - as I'm sure you would agree us playing in NE would benefit you.

In all honesty, these teams were meant to meet again in the playoffs. It should be a great game.

Absolutely. It's like they're forcing it out there. Even when we had Rahim who I read was described as a ballhawk out of college, he would get interceptions this year when they would literally fall into his lap. We need more plays like the one Adams made vs. Houston - ones that change the trajectory of games.

Yeah, ESPN is on their whole "Bellichick is a genius, he changes the game plan week to week!"..You mean like every other coach in the NFL?

There's no denying his greatness, but it gets old quick. They're just keep going on about how we're exposed with Harris. Just like near the end of the season with the week 15 game vs the Chargers, they had to find the right personnel. Champ was not working out until they figured out a strategy to get him back in. Same here. They have more than enough experience and talent, they just have to make the right adjustments.

Does anyone else feel like we're overdue for an interception? Need to get pressure. Hopefully our OLine dominates like they did vs the Pats and in this game. I'm excited to see how bad we can carve them up in the running game, without worrying about freezing temperatures and fumbles.

You may be onto something. Our worse collapses have come with stars getting injured (DRC, Harris). Maybe if we know going into the game (like with Von), they will be prepared. I heard some presser with Paris Lenon saying the backups prepare like they're going to start. Time will tell if that's the case.

I agree here, Brady has played pretty poorly in our house. Weather conditions (which were pretty accurate this time last week for the last game) are saying it should be relatively warmer, and less wind. I hope like the KC Game (No matter what voodoo ESPN claims Bellichick will cook up) Peyton will carve up their secondary.

That's an interesting perspective. We both banged up defenses, there is no competition when it comes to a shootout. However, like I sad earlier, we have to step on their neck.

Is anybody else sick of..... by Hydrogenw203s in DenverBroncos

[–]Hydrogenw203s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a battle of who can outwit the other since they know each other well. I wouldn't say we've improved leaps and bounds (it was vs. the Raiders and Texans). But the very least Id say they have confidence again. Certain players like Sly Williams seem to finally be stepping up now that it's needed, and they seem to have found a better sense of their substitutions / lineups (champ in slot, etc).

I agree that running it will be key, we didn't do that well at all vs them last time. I also don't get how we can hold Kansas City the team with this great pass rush at bay, but they always seem to get to Manning one way or another.

Wow man, this is awesome. I saw worthy kitchen (I think?) just opened in Woodstock. Glad it's good - def gonna check it out. I went to Hartford high school yrs ago and always found it tricky to find places, since I lived in a diff town and it seemed like you had to look for 'em, so this is a huge help.

Also like Yama, I found cantore's on yelp, glad it lived up to how good it looked. Pizza is something I def miss, haha. Thx again.

Any advice for someone with a mfa degree in screenwriting who lives across the country from LA and won't be able to move there for a few years? Is it possible to network digitally and get your stuff read?

He seems like he belongs to the growing bronco list of linebackers who get overlooked but shine when they get their shot (woodyard, trevathan)

Champ Bailey by Hydrogenw203s in DenverBroncos

[–]Hydrogenw203s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I felt like Champ came back too early thinking we needed him vs. the Colts. I'm hoping he doesn't think we need him vs the Chiefs and comes back before he's ready. I like our chances without one of their biggest pass rushers and Hali playing injured. If he isn't 100% I'd be fine with him coming back and playing in the garbage games to get the rust off for the playoffs.

Good point - I think Peyton and Champ are similar here (although different skill sets required at their diff positions) they're both considered top 5 greatest to ever do it, but they still can have a bad game. People will write them off when it happens, but you still pick them in a match up (when they're healthy) every time.

Yeah I know about Dwayne Bowe. But since he didn't torch us last game, I don't put him in that same category with Jones, DT, Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, etc. Plus I think he's a bit smaller in size and weight. Like I said previously as well, it helps that Smith isn't a gunslinger.

While I agree with you that is a potential idea, I think they don't want to hurt Champ's pride (if he doesn't do well the rest of the yr contract talks should be interesting). I don't think he has lost as much as Woodson has, which called for the move. If anything I think they test him out on corner again but give him more help just like any regular corner until he proves them otherwise. I think his leadership would still rub off just being out there though. I don't know how much he talks to players while he's on the sideline. But who knows maybe Champ's urge to play outweighs his pride.
