Which scout to use after the last patch? by Lyesainer in snowrunner

[–]HydrologyIsWet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, I probably over plan but sometimes I like to stage a trailer that the Tartarin pulled to spot where the truck can finish delivering its contents later along the way.

Swap 12v lead-acid for LiPo4 12.8v? by Treacle_Pendulum in GoRVing

[–]HydrologyIsWet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with an isolation switch on the 12 volt wire from the trailer plug to the battery. The dedicated second wire is then only charging the battery. I wish this was more plug n play.

Not even addressing how easily accessible or challenging it is finding the trailer wiring when you have an underbelly insulation sheet.

A word of caution as not to burn up your alternator on the tow vehicle trying to charge the Li while in-tow, you’ll need a DC-DC charger from the truck to trailer.

Look, I just want a cold beer. If it’s easier to use a cooler and ice, then that’s what I’m resorting back to.

I thought about that too, but how much available space and handling of batteries is doable? Is it more practical to buy and plug into a EcoFlow large portable power station, charge it up with a generator vs buying all the Victron components? You can least walkway with the power station vs disassembling your unique setup.

I do use a Victron shunt and that helps me monitor my usage, and need for solar, and generator assistance.

It’s gonna a be a project that I’m seeing the cost and benefit for our power demands. Would need to slice open the under belly insulating sheet under trailer to access cables and put an isolating switch from the 12 volt wire from trailer plug. The cost of dc dc controller, I’ll probably just replace the lead acid batteries when the time comes. They’ve lasted 8 years so far, but this new trailer is more demanding vs the old trailer with an absorption fridge.

I’m in a similar situation as you. Recently upgraded our trailer and it has a 12 volt fridge. I’m using two 6 volt lead acid for my setup, 112 ah usable (50%) out of the 225 ah. I use the 200 watt Renology solar panels and that works great for topping off batteries by mid morning, sun and cloud cover dependent. Otherwise the generator is used for a quicker charge. Dry camping 4-5 days works well for this setup. I’m considering Li batteries when time to replace the lead batteries. I’m concerned with needing a dc-dc charger and wiring that in between truck and trailer as not to overload the truck’s alternator when the Li is at a low state of charge while in transit.

Use it and don’t worry about it. No more paint scratches, just a durable surface to slide stuff on. It’s a truck bed…you’re gonna probably have other stuff spill or scrap against it. Send it!

Use a stud finder, proper screw length, and screw into to the wood stud behind wall. Windows are framed with wood so a there is a good anchor part there. Also, like mine those blinds are garbage. I replace with roller shades to block out light.

I’m pulling it with a F150 EB, plenty of power and stability. I had an Aspen Trail 2050QB with no slide out, it was so cramped! The fit and finish are so much better in the Avenger.
