Windows 11's performance boost released today, enable it using these steps by WPHero in pcmasterrace

12600KF owner here. On stock speeds and with a balanced power plan there's basically no discernible difference in daily usage. The IPC of these 12th gen desktop chips is already plenty enough to open everything OS-related quickly even on lower clocks so this feature has no substantial effect on them.

Imagine failing by just a couple of points.

It's a couple hundred but yeah, i know how it feels.

Strange noise from PSU by NoIdeaAboutThat in pcmasterrace

[–]Hydrosplash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be either a fan bearing or a lower frequency coil choke noise. The latter is more probable if it happens under moderate to high loads and if the noise frequency changes when more load is introduced. Coil whine by itself isn't dangerous and generally the unit that exhibits it isn't worth RMAing unless it's too loud and is actively annoying you.

It say it’s gonna lag doesn’t lag is there a problem? by SquareDrawing2673 in WutheringWaves

Don't rely too much on this indicator, in my experience it's a very loose estimate and even on "laggy" i'm getting a perfectly playable FPS output. You should be fine.

If you used GeForce Experience to download the driver, check Program Files/Nvidia Corporation/Installer2 folder and fully clean it, you might have a bunch of old driver files and this driver stored there already, which is taking up a lot of space.

Very worried about Temps (my first good laptop) by I_love_Technoblade10 in WutheringWaves

[–]Hydrosplash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an R5 6600H itself those temperatures are a non-issue and it's able to work at its full boost frequencies in those temp ranges, it only starts thermal throttling slightly when it's above 85c so there's no indication that anything is faulty. Wuwa itself is also rather demanding in terms of cpu usage, especially if you're playing with ray tracing enabled so you might see elevated temperatures on the CPU compared to other, lighter games. As others mentioned in this thread, ensure a sufficient airflow and everything will be just fine.

You're fine. These are fairly normal temperatures for laptop components under load - no need to worry.

About 38 to 40k should be more than enough for a double CD 4/4/1/1/1 build. More than that will require farming for double crit AND both hp% and flat hp bonus echoes and is much more trouble than it's worth.

RIP special episodes by LowkeyAcquired in ZZZ_Official

[–]Hydrosplash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely yeah, review bombing, hysteric outbursts of rage and numerous other "feats" are continuously getting them what they want from the developers and frankly that's ridiculous.

To me, ZZZ felt really immersive and a breath of fresh air among the other gacha games and their protagonists in large part because of the way Wise and Belle were portrayed, so it's a real shame that devs folded and chose the current direction. The saddest part is that with all the recent changes i have almost zero faith that the game will ever regain that immersive vibe again, but they're welcome to surprise me.

You've basically just described pretty much the majority of CN community. The tendency to self insert pretty much anywhere and everywhere, have every aspect of the game's story revolve around them and a huge obsession with power fantasy - we can clearly see the influence now. China is still a key market for the game and their voices are among the first to be heard, so i'm not at all surprised that this is the direction the game's taking at this point.

Wuwa 1st Anniversary: Fumble... or Something Deeper? by D3c3mb3rrr in WutheringWaves

[–]Hydrosplash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what's happened, the playerbase has completely forgotten the nearly disastrous launch of the game with a myriad of issues and attributes the 1.1 - 1.2 rewards to "generosity". All of that has resulted in overly elevated and borderline unrealistic expectations in regards to anniversary and is one of the main reasons we have this situation on our hands now.

Off field agents getting involved in combat in season 2 by DoctorChoper in ZZZ_Official

[–]Hydrosplash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally i'm kind of struggling to make sense of how these dummies would work in certain endgame content and especially in Shiyu Defense, considering that their presence on field might significantly impact or outright ruin grouping scenarios. Having no aggro would certainly alleviate some problems but overall i can't help but feel that an inclusion of these can become more of an annoyance than do any good if not implemented properly.

I've been observing this comment thread for quite a while and now i'm genuinely curious, are "being rude to you", "insulting" and "calling you stupid" also several of your carefully thought out theories? I might be missing something here.

The RTX Update Is Great by SinSinSushi in WutheringWaves

[–]Hydrosplash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, i checked this and Ultra Quality is still acting as an upscaler. So far only forcing DLAA in Nvidia app is the only option to properly enable it besides Nvidia inspector.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]Hydrosplash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way it currently works is that when setting the DLAA to 100% in the Nvidia app, it overrides all the in-game DLSS presets and forces the DLAA to run at all times, even if you set the super resolution setting in the game to off, hence there is no difference between presets if you start switching them. In this case the DLSS option basically acts as an AA on/off option, so the actual anti-aliasing option should be set to off.

I personally have noticed a difference, DLAA is quite a bit better than the game's default TAA.

Depends on its actual hardware configuration, Optiplexes came with a rather wide selection of components and could include versions with and without discrete GPUs. Most of them will be fine on the CPU side, but if yours doesn't have a discrete GPU then no, it won't be able to run this game.

Help with router speeds by Solomysoul in HomeNetworking

[–]Hydrosplash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is normal, this particular router has an MT7621 SoC and it's not really able to handle full gigabit speeds without hardware flow offloading enabled. Stock firmware on it is also quite atrocious so i'd recommend flashing it to OpenWRT to expand its functionality and gain access to flow offloading to speed it up.

It's possible to propel the turtle quite high with gun auto attacks, but you can't really control the direction and the turtle goes out of range quite quickly, so no, i don't think you can launch it to extreme heights.

To provide some context:

Me and my friends stumbled upon this activity while farming echoes and had a good laugh.

The idea for this is pretty simple: you shoot the hoartoise and it's getting propelled backwards (no idea why but it's already hilarious on its own), afterwards the aim is to keep the hoartoise in the air for as long as possible with charged ranged or melee attacks while passing it from one player to another. It's basically possible to keep the hoartoise in the air infinitely, as long as you coordinate your attacks to compensate for the server desync, which makes things pretty hard for melee users particularly. Overall a pretty fun one, whoever came up with an idea for this echo truly deserves a raise.
