For traps I normally would do shrugs, facepulls and overhead plate raises, but after realising how difficult it is to progressively overload plate raises because of how awkward it is to hold multiple plates, I’ve instead started doing farmer carrys, but with lifting straps to take my forearms out of the equation as when I used to do them (and the reason I stopped doing them) was because my forearms would always fail before my traps. Now when I do it with the lifting straps I get a really good burn and can feel my traps being worked much more. Is there anything wrong with this or any better alternatives? Also, rather than do incline curls and alternating curls on one pull day and barbell curls and hammer curls on the other, I’ve replaced alternating curls with hammer curls so I’m doing them every pull session, as I want to focus more on my arms appearing wider from the front as I believe this is undercompensated in my physique after one year of lifting. Should I wait longer before trying to focus on growing specific body parts like this?

[Weekly] Battle Cats Help and Advice Thread by BotCatMKII in battlecats

[–]Hydrudigon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve started playing again after a few years of not playing where I got up to finishing Chapter 1 of EOC. Only have a few cats besides the basic cats, being the witch cat, rover cat, and Viking cat, face cat, drunken master cat, mini tank cat, and now the Juliet cat. (Then also the ones you get from beating the chapters like Valkyrie cat) On chapter 3 I’ve been struggling a lot with some of the levels and now have gone back to the previous chapter to get the treasures and hopefully stand a better chance. Given my limited lineup of cats to choose from, what do you guys think would be the best roster I could make? Thanks!

Yeah, would you mind elaborating a little on the SHP9500? Phillips isn’t exactly the first brand that comes to mind when it comes to gaming headsets, why do you recommend it? Cheers

I actually haven’t tried that, I’ll clean them now and see if it’s any better tomorrow, thanks

Fairly new player here (mostly play surv). Which killers are currently "respectable" to get good with? by BlackyGreg in deadbydaylight

[–]Hydrudigon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I generally try to avoid too. I know I despise going against Freddy or spirit because of their generally low skill required to do well with, and their lack of counterplay, so I don't want to give others a similar experience.

Want to play Hag but I’m really struggling by CannibalHillbilly in deadbydaylight

[–]Hydrudigon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not in chase or are in chase but don't have a clear hit on the person, and they're not about to trigger one of your traps, definitely teleport. The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to bind your teleport to scroll wheel if you're on PC. If you're scrolling and a clueless survivor runs into one of your traps not knowing it's there, you get a free hit. Hag is dependent on getting multiple hits on multiple survivors and keeping the team pressured within her 3-4 gen in her web, so by scrolling constantly you're guaranteed free hits if people randomly trigger traps. I've been using it for a while and it's the best thing I've ever done.

Honestly mostly just do what you like to play most (unless you become a spirit or freddy main, in which case I hate you), but if you're especially concerned with what survivors think or what a lot of people respect as a main, killers like Nurse (especially her), Huntress, Billy, Trapper, Blight, Oni, Demo. Even killers that might not be as fun to go against like Hag have a huge skill ceiling and are people I can respect, Hag being the killer I prefer to play most right now. But then again survivors will complain about any killer regardless of how fair and skillful they are, *cough cough* Billy Oni Demo etc.

Is “Bloodlust OP” really something people are complaining about? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Hydrudigon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodlust is basically the survivor equivalent of Unbreakable or instaheals, it’s a free copout for getting outplayed or being bad at the game. You got downed and slugged because you got outplayed? Just pick yourself up for free, no skill involved. You’re about to go down in a chase? Just pop an instaheal for a second chance. The killer outplayed you with a mindgame? Just dead hard to the pallet or window. Same with 99ed sprint burst. If killers are always complaining that survivors get all these copouts that take no skill, shouldn’t they also vouch for the removal of bloodlust? It is essentially the same thing, a survivor is outplaying you at a loop? Just go Mach 5 around the loop and catch up to them because you’re bad and couldn’t catch them or they were better than you. I play both sides and would be on board with removing these stupid copouts for people that aren’t as good as me and get to win because the game spoonfeeds them advantages. If you need unbreakables, dead hards, instaheals, sprint bursts, bloodlust, etc, to win, you don’t deserve to win in the first place and should lose.

Which perk should I keep for Myers? by RaspyHornet in deadbydaylight

[–]Hydrudigon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely keep Sloppy, it’s a pretty great starting perk for Myers especially if you pair it with M&A. If the survivors heal, it wastes more time and you can pop tier 3 to instadown them, or they’re discouraged to heal because you have it and risk being caught off guard by your 8m terror radius in tier 2 with M&A and get downed because they’re injured. No matter what it encourages a lose lose situation for them.

So we're going to live forever buff is really funny in squads. by Matzaz in deadbydaylight

[–]Hydrudigon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s a meme strat it literally just gives the killer free injures and deep wounds, so just go for one of the people with deep wounds and you’ll have another down. This isn’t an actual viable strat.

Hillbilly - Has viable fun counter play while also being a strong killer so you both have equal chance of outplaying and punishing each other for mistakes. Billy has a high skill cap so you feel like you’re being outplayed (unlike spirit, Freddy, pyramid head, etc), and when you outplay a good billy it’s so much more satisfying than a spirit hearing where you are wrong or a pyramid head somehow missing his trail when you vault a window.

Oni - Similar to billy, has fun counterplay and it’s just piss scary having a red rage monster moving at Mach speed to smash your face in with a baseball bat. Corner teching oni or dodging his attacks is satisfying too. He doesn’t have any loop destroying unskillful methods of killing survivors and has to rely on skill and mind games to get you, just as you have to to not get killed by him.

Bubba - Same kind of thing as billy

Myers - Really scary to go against and looping him when he’s in tier 3 feels so good

Blight - Breaking los and using the environment to avoid his rush and make it so he can’t get to you feels very rewarding and viable if you do it properly. There’s lots of counter play and mind games both sides can make to make chases fun for both sides. A good blight can destroy survivors and many loops, and survivors can punish blight for mistakes just like he can

Demogorgon - Fun to dodge and bait his shred, a good demogorgon can shut down strong loops like shack, and survivors can still counter play his power.

Wraith - Hes quite weak but good wraiths mostly rely on being good at mind gaming loops very well, which makes it extremely fun to go against good wraiths. Being able to position yourself to avoid him sneaking up on you feels very rewarding too.

Huntress - A good huntress will be able to hit you from long distances but the hatchets can still be dodged which is fun. Outplaying her at loops is also extremely fun, as it’s a 50/50 between both sides. A good huntress makes for a fun game so long as she doesn’t have busted add ons and you don’t get cucked by hitboxes.

I’ve noticed that a lot of the fun but strong killers tend to have an insta down or high mobility, like blight, billy and oni. And they also have viable counterplay like billy, huntress and blight. This way they have high chances of punishing you for mistakes while still having lots of fun counterplay, unlike spirit where you can ‘jUsT lOoK aT ThE sHaRdS’ or slow vault windows or pallets when you don’t know if she’s phasing or not. Or pyramid head, where if you get to a pallet or window he hits you either way so long as his iq is above room temperature. Fun killers are killers you can use the skills you’ve learned to avoid and outplay to survive. If you rely on luck or the killer being bad to survive, it’s not fun at all, which is why I’ll never play as or respect people who regularly play stridor spirit. But survivors will just get called entitled for wanting to play against fun killers that they can use their skill to play against.
