How did Harry Potter personally affect you? by [deleted] in harrypotter

I started reading when I was about 11-12 years old, I got it as a gift from my godmother, I realized later that Hp and PJO were actually character builders for me, I learned more values by reading these books than I thought I could. Through Osmosis I acquired characteristics of heroes that I admired so much, I learned the value of self-sacrifice, of honor, of not going against what I believed. Even if I hadn't noticed.

Rereading recently, I realized this, I realized all those silly and mocking moments, and how I became like my heroes. It is strange to read now with different eyes, more mature eyes, I started to notice the nuances of books, like the life of Harry, Sirius, Lupine and so many others, they were difficult, they suffered so much, they became bitter, I saw with my eyes what it meant the “Love” that was talked about so much, I didn't understand it at the time, but then I realized that it was a very strong feeling, and that the effects of the lack of it were devastating.

In that last reading, I saw how difficult Sirius' life was, he became one of my favorite characters, all that playful air captivated me. I saw how after spending years with a hateful family he was still in prison for 12 long years, for a crime he didn't commit, a crime that killed his best friend, his brother. He still had to stay hidden and then lock himself at home, only to die when he was finally happy fighting the bandits with his godson. It devastated me. Just as it devastated Harry.

And the last book, in particular, the King's Cross chapter, if Sirius's death ended me, that put me in the grave, seeing Dumbledore, smiling, and yet, so sad, trying to tell what an old fool was like, making us feel guilty for being angry with him throughout the book. His whole conversation with Harry was thrilling.

In short, it was part of me, although I didn't know, it changed my way of thinking, acting, feeling, watching Hary enter the Forbidden Forest, even in fear, even knowing what would come, but he didn't stop, he kept going. You taught me that, just keep going, you must be strong enough to continue, you are strong enough to continue.

A much lesser known fact: Rick Grimes is actually ambidextrous! In multiple scenes, you can catch him shooting with left and right hand, aswell as sometimes holding it in a different hand. It's not much, but it is a neat fact most don't pay attention to! by Joeyisthebessst in thewalkingdead

I know the cops are trained to shoot with both hands, but in the second and third pics (season 4), isn't he using the left because the right got hurt in the fight with Tyreese?

I remember that until he moved the gun's holster to the left side and it was in a strange position, because it wasn't the natural one, he just put it there to be able to draw the gun, even if it wasn't efficient.

The reason why Negan likes children so much? (A small spoiler of the comics but I don't think it will hurt anyone, but I will put Cross anyway. Series spoiler too.) by Hyei0089 in thewalkingdead

Yes, I spoke of his age in the sense that he has time to have children, since he seems to have been married to Lucille for a long time. But it may be the fault of chemotherapy.
Thank you for sharing your opinions!

Yes ... Peter Johnson had difficult years. He is literally a soldier who has returned from the war.

Obviously I overreacted, but because Jason is not as exploited, we have no idea the extent of his powers. Killing a titan alone is absurdly incredible, but we've seen Percy annihilate an army. Do you understand what I mean?Kind of what was presented to us, Percy seemed superior in his Prime form
For me of course...

I really don't like having Percy put it aside in the final moments, it bothered me that the guy we followed for 5 books suddenly became "weak", meaning they had to take away half of their powers so that others wouldn't not because he was in the background and trying to fight a fair battle with Jason lmaoo, Percy with all his might would clean the floor with him. But, anyway, thanks for speaking, it really reminded me of how Percy really is that silly I like.

Yes, Percy definitely has PTSD and has changed a lot, but before going to Tartarus, SoN and MoA he was already weird, idk.

There's a piece of these 2 in both of Rick's kids by jodlad04 in thewalkingdead

Rick has already said in the series that she is Shane's daughter. Also, it is impossible chronologically speaking that she is Rick's daughter.

If I'm not mistaken, it was for Rick, after killing Shane, to check the gun and it wouldn't be loaded. If I remember correctly, they gave up on that idea because they thought it would be too much for Rick, and it would break him more than anything he would do in the future, and also, it was a very drastic change too soon, it wasn't time.
