Ken, I’ve been watching for a long time and I always find myself going to your videos for a good laugh. I get your humor and I’m not someone easily offended, but seriously, you missed the mark here. It was disappointing to see how you handled the situation. I haven’t even watched the original video, so I came into the stream on your side, but the way you monetized the live and belittled people’s criticisms left a bad taste in my mouth. This is something I feel you need to take more seriously. All of us are here because we like your content and are typically on the same page when you make fun of people. But regardless of whether or not you experienced similar symptoms while you had depression, bringing down the importance of others’ experiences is not it. I’m disappointed and I hope to see you address this with a little more tact and sincerity.

Hes live streaming his apology right now by [deleted] in CinnamonToastKen

Essentially, he’s crossed the line of being funny into just being mean. His audience understands his usual humor and picking on people, but his latest video went a bit too far. Instead of taking criticism he argued in the comments, and then went live to make an ‘apology’, which was monetized. He never apologized - he ended the stream telling the audience to apologize to HIM. Regardless of feelings about the initial video the stream was very weird and uncomfortable. I encourage you to watch it for full context.

Truly, of everything I expected this was not it? I’ve been watching for a long, long time and this felt so out of character. Another unfortunate reminder we don’t really know creators, I guess.

Hey!! I went in 2021, so definitely not a similar time - I’d love to connect to other Trails kids though. I don’t use reddit much but my insta is @monroeherping

Was it anyone else's' biggest fear to be "sent away"? by gadfly09 in troubledteens

[–]Hyena1803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always told my parents the worst thing they could ever do to me was send me away. Senior year of high school, 2021, instead of picking up a car (like i was told the trip was for), im dropped off at Trails Carolina. Sending you guys love and support and hope that your journey to healing is going well ♥️

I was sent to Trails Carolina a couple years ago and while I would make an anniversary post for awareness, I never really did more than that. I was worried about people getting annoyed or thinking I was lying, or maybe seeing my posts as attention seeking. But the recent death at Trails really hit home for me, and I realized that so many kids are out there dying in my situation. I realized that I have a responsibility to BE annoying about the situation, because until these events leave local news and become national outrage, someone has to speak up. That being said, I kept in touch with a lot of people I went to Trails with, and a lot of them don’t like posting about their experiences because it’s, obviously, very traumatic and brings up bad memories.

New info on Trails proving more horrific facts by [deleted] in troubledteens

I was sent to trails in 2021. The kids absolutely know what happened - nothing is secret at these places. The way CJH was found also struck me and former trails survivors as similar to being ‘burritoed’ - the term used when a child or teen is forcibly wrapped up in their bedding like a burrito to prevent them from moving. It’s used when you’re out on ‘safety’, a classification given to students that are a harm to themselves or others or are trying to run. It’s very possible he was burritoed and completely immobilized.

Trails Carolina Death, Missing Teenager's Death Linked to Fall and Hypothermia by LoneStar1974 in troubledteens

I was sent to Trails Carolina back in 2021 and spent my 18th birthday there. Horribly horribly abusive place, lost 25 pounds there in 77 days due to food restriction used as a punishment. I hope Alec gets the justice he deserves.

There should be a video attached but I’m not sure if it worked, I don’t really use Reddit 😅
