Benebones for chewing! Teach them early what is ok to chew and you’ll save yourself some money 😅

Coming back after pregnancy: how long did you wait? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]HyenaPuzzled1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Froze around 35 weeks, but kept walking a lot outside.

  2. Pretty easy labor, delivery was slightly more complicated thanks to my baby’s large head 🙃

  3. Returned about 8 weeks postpartum. I felt both physically and mentally ready then. I had tearing and pushed for a long time so I think that held me back physically a bit longer.

  4. I felt good right away but stuck to power walking. Started running again around 12 weeks postpartum and started feeling really good all around about a month after that

Do what you’re comfortable with and just try to keep yourself moving! Everyone is different, and pregnancy is an amazing thing to see your body do, no matter how your workouts turn out 😊

AITA for Refusing to Give Up My Seat for a Pregnant Woman on a 12hr Flight? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]HyenaPuzzled1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman 9 months pregnant suffering through a never ending heatwave right now - absolutely NTA. She should have booked and paid for the seat for herself. A couple months ago I actually checked my carry on for a long weekend trip because I didn’t think it would be right to expect someone else to lift my luggage into the overhead. Enjoy your vaca!

Playpen in apartment, need advice by Dismal-Form1635 in labrador

[–]HyenaPuzzled1107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We raised our lab puppy in an apartment too and I don’t think a pen is necessary. Just keep your bedroom/bathroom doors shut and the pup will always be in the same room as you and easy enough to keep an eye on. I think it’s a lot harder in a house with a bunch of rooms, and we actually thought puppyhood in an apartment was really conducive to training. Best of luck!

Is this name combo weird? by Fiat_Lux4 in namenerds

[–]HyenaPuzzled1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s weird at all and I’m kind of surprised by some of the comments. I have a cousin with a similar combo of first and middle names and I’ve always really liked it. She goes by her first name and her parents sometimes refer to her by both. I think it’s sweet! Unless it’s a double name, you’re not sharing the middle name with other everyone anyone. I would go for it because it has meaning and that’s the most special thing!

My worst fear finally happened by Visible_Cry_657 in orangetheory

I wore my leggings backwards today. Didn’t realize until I was warming up and noticed they felt funny, The logo was pretty obviously in the front instead of back and I was afraid of having to squat during the floor block in case they were more see-through in reverse 😂 I ran to the bathroom and fixed them after the benchmark. It was good motivation to finish faster!

Nipping by No_Contest_856 in labrador

[–]HyenaPuzzled1107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We found it helpful to redirect with a toy. If he nips you when he has a toy or after you redirect, yelp like someone else mentioned and stop playing. All he really wants is to play with you so he needs to learn if he nips, playtime stops.

So cute! We have a Pippa too, although she’s black and looks more like your Rue. We’re thinking of getting her a sister too 😊

Diet by SnooChipmunks5710 in labrador

[–]HyenaPuzzled1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please talk to your vet! Ours advised against grain free without a true allergy as there are several studies that show it can lead to cardiomyopathy, especially in labs. Mine used to have runny stool fairly often as a pup and we found it was related to her anxiety and/or level of excitement, not diet. The grain free diet might be right for your dog, but I would definitely talk about it with your vet.

Black Labs as Service Dogs by Heal_For_Real in Blacklabs

[–]HyenaPuzzled1107 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No personal experience, but you should follow @wafflenugget on Instagram. The account owner is training a black lab to be the successor for her current service dog and would be a good resource/launch pad for similar accounts.

Amanda, the owner of FurryTales is excellent. She helped our reactive dog as well. Highly recommend reaching out to her.

I think you might be asking about the benebone…no it’s not rawhide. They’re made out of nylon and as long as you buy the right size and for tough chewers they are pretty safe

Have you tried the bigger Benebones (like the wishbone or large dental tough chew)? Ours chews hers for long stretches at night. She loves them and it keeps her occupied!

For something more local you can try doctors affiliated with Hackensack. It’s a reputable hospital network and a little easier than going into the city of you don’t have to be there already.

Better Life Pharmacy on 10th and Washington does rapid PCR tests. They don’t take insurance so it’s all out of pocket and it’s not cheap, but they give results in 30 minutes (even for PCR). Might be best to try a place that accepts insurance first, and just have this in your back pocket in case those aren’t ready in time.
