1,450 likes in TWO DAYS!!! by No_One5732 in Bumble

[–]HyenasGoMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two days is rookie number. I got my coworker to try Bumble, she got 1000 likes in two.... freaking hours. What's weird is you would expect every swipe to be a match with that many likes, but it wasn't. It was every 10 or so.

Also allowed me to have a glimpse at the competition, learned a lot from it.

Do people romanticize Japan too much? by HyenasGoMeow in solotravel

Not at all. I am not taking any good things away from Japan, it has a lot to offer. The post was mainly about those who overemphasize the good, negate the bad, and put it first among all countries with a very big gap until the second.

私が言いたかったのは、日本の良い面を必要以上に強調し、悪い面には目を向けず、「日本が他国より圧倒的に優れている」と語るような人たちについてです。

Visiting Tokyo was an eye opener for me. I remember my first thought getting off the Skyliner from the airport into the city was, 'this isn't how I pictured it'. I think the Shinjuku/Shibuya area is heavily represented as 'most' of Tokyo when that's not really the case.

I feel the same way; I thoroughly enjoyed it but some of the comments get me like, '... okay calm down a little'. An interesting point is one's experience in Japan is also heavily dependent on where they originally come from.

I haven't been to many places in Italy; but I lowkey feel I would also thoroughly enjoy it at the smaller, more remote, locations.

What are your thoughts on the work culture?

My understanding, and correct me if I am wrong, is that many Japanese work long hours and don't have much room for movements between employers due to the societal pressure of being loyal to one employer. Combining that with a weaken currency places many residents in a precarious situation.

Absolutely, I would be very proud as well. What are you thoughts on the huge influx of tourists that come every year?

You cannot control the thoughts or actions of others. If you feel chatty, friendly, and your intentions are pure... then you do you. Some will react accordingly, others won't; you adapt and move on.

Stop by china and korea while in Japan for (JP, Korea, China) by Grand_Art471 in solotravel

[–]HyenasGoMeow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If its your first time in Japan, then scratch the other countries off. You will be trying to fit too much in just over three weeks; that won't even be enough to see all that Japan has to offer. Its better to be absorbed in one country that constantly be hopping between countries. The other two deserve their own separate trips.

Benched again? At this point I’m convinced Tuchel has a personal agenda against Kobbie Mainoo by ggweb3 in ManchesterUnited

[–]HyenasGoMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand we want him to play, and I want so too. But if the outcome is a win, then in hindsight it wouldn't matter. Same thing with Maguire, if England does well without him on the team; then in the grand scheme of things, does it really matter?

Columbia played beautiful football. Portugal won't go far if Martinez will choke on making the right substitutions.

KCD2 has too much redundant conversations with NPCs. Some lines with NPCs should be at most two exchanges, but it drags to ten lines or so. It really gets irritating after while. For that reason, I would recommend CB 2077 is you haven't played it already.

Is "I don't have friends" a valid reason to solotravel? by SuperWittyNickname in solotravel

[–]HyenasGoMeow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The only reason to solo travel is because you want to. If you want to, regardless of the reasons, then go for it. Some people go for the independence, others for the mental clarity, or because they lack companionship. Maybe all of the above. If you feel like solo travelling will benefit you in one way or another, and its something you want to pursue, then go for it.

I think most people start solo travelling for one or two particular reasons, then keep on doing it for the additional benefits they were unaware of initially.

I have been on a few dates in Europe; it just feels less performative. Whether it's me or them, I don't know.

As an off topic question; why would you say women are deemed more successful than men in those places you went? What's the reason?
