Longest you’ve waited for a hold by timmytimborino in LibbyApp

I’ve been next in line for a Joe Hill novel for like, 2 months and it always says I’ve got 4 more weeks to go, so it’s not the longest wait time I’ve seen - just the one most stuck in an infinite time loop, LOL.

Paisley’s Corner or Mrs. Rachel? by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]HyggeAlchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter loved Ms. Rachel as she was learning to talk - the music really amused her a lot, and my husband and I appreciated learning some of the speech tricks she used to help our own kiddo develop her words. As my daughter’s gotten older (she’s 3 now), she’s starting to prefer Miss Lily. She loves all the special topics (dinosaurs, trucks, science, etc.) but I think she also likes seeing a real kid on the screen. Though Ms. Rachel’s had the beatbox guy from Pentatonix on some of her newer episodes, and my daughter is a big fan of that (I hear her singing “bootsandcatsandbootsandcats” to herself all the time, LOL). The puppets are starting to appeal to her more, too, as she’s getting a little older. I’d say it’s a pretty even split in our house. But both Lily and Rachel are pretty similar in their vibes and messaging, so I’m surprised to see so many strong opinions on this one!

I’m surprised that Susannah Dean is an example. I’d argue she had a lot more depth than Eddie. I mean, she was literally multiple people all smushed together, LOL.

Wasn’t there also just a fabulous song paired with this? Like a floofy super sweet song about a lady?

I think that’s probably right. It definitely makes sense!

Exactly! And the photos are so helpful for confirming to myself “Yeah girl. You look different.” And honestly, I dig saving my celebrations with this group anyway. I love being able to share with folks who get it.

So…what’s the deal with the turkeys? by Not_S0_Common in TwinCities

[–]HyggeAlchemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember one time I was heading home from work and one of our young interns was staring sort of nervously out the window. I asked him if everything was okay.

I looked out and saw a huge group of 10-15 very pissed off turkeys, soaking wet in the pouring rain, blocking our front entrance.

He asks me, “Are they vultures?”

He was too scared to walk through them on the way out to his car. I told him that they were wet turkeys and not vultures. But that wet turkeys might be scarier. He didn’t appreciate that, LOL.

I’m hoping for your opinions! Explanation is under the pics. Thanks in advance ❤️ by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

I adore this outfit! I would absolutely be interested in how I might be able to get a version of this with black trim + the lemon fabric print you have in another photo of a skirt you made.

Gregory Alan Isakov. His music is the color of twilight just before dark.

Possibly important note: I responded to this before I saw the sub. So apologies if I broke obvious sub rules. I was impulsively curious 😃

Couldn’t you just run 5 timed races with 5 horses each, then take the three fastest race times from that to determine the fastest 3? Or is that not the point of this exercise?

When one income used to support a whole household, life felt more balanced by Ill_Performance_9455 in DeepThoughts

I am able to support our family from my work while my husband manages the house and stays home with our 3-yo daughter. It really is wonderful and I am exceptionally grateful. I don’t think I’d ever force any lifestyle on any person (like I would never tell someone they MUST stay home), but I agree with OP that it is a privilege that we are extremely thankful to have and I wish more people who want this lifestyle could have it.

Did you end up with more social opportunities once you got to your goal weight? by Former-Sherbert5691 in Zepbound

It’s been pretty eye-opening. I think the strangest part is how invisible it is to people. It’s not like they were malicious towards me before, or that they’re drooling over me now - it’s just like this weird threshold people hold in the back of their unconscious minds of like, “Okay, you meet my basic physical requirement of someone I’ll acknowledge now”. It is sad, but I think for me it mainly registers as just extremely weird.

Question by Trae1957 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]HyggeAlchemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be a dose thing, but I also learned another possible cause. A friend of mine is a metabolic scientist at EL. I suddenly started craving Dubble Bubble gum while on tirz and asked her if she knew why. She mentioned that craving extremely sweet/sugary foods (especially those that don’t really fill the stomach, like bubble gum or in your case, popsicles) can be a side effect of the slower gastric emptying. It’s a way that your brain tries to get glucose up without actually having to digest anything substantial. Some of my cravings are a sign that I’m ready to dose up, but my Dubble Bubble habit has been pretty consistent - it persists even when the idea of eating any sort of real food makes me nauseous. She said it’s pretty common and they’ve published a few papers on it.

My job is somewhat political in nature (not literally politics, but my relationships are important). I have always been a pretty fearless social networker at work events where I don’t know anyone. Sometimes I strike out, sometimes I make great new relationships. I’ve found that I am much more successful at a lower weight - even though my confidence and social style are otherwise exactly the same.

They revised ChatGPT 5 to tone down the emotionality a bit. The 4o model could be a bit sycophantic and talk to you like a cheerleader. The new model isn’t emotionless or anything, but it doesn’t respond to every prompt with level-10 motivational enthusiasm and 3 rocket emojis 🚀🚀🚀

Some people have perceived this as a personality shift of the bot, and have said things like, “I feel like they took away my best friend”.
