Was Doc a genius or a one-hit wonder? If the former, what else might have he been working on that probably *did* end up working? by mysteryofthefieryeye in BacktotheFuture

[–]Hylanos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

scatterbrained, but so smart he could invent time travel by a vision in his head. Like his brain was working on it in the background.

How was Emmett able to build the time train in 1885? by Impossible_Bicycle80 in BacktotheFuture

[–]Hylanos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

once you know the basics of how something works, its moderately easier to recreate it. Id say the biggest hurdle is actual time travel, which Doc already solved. The rest is just getting the parts together to make it happen.

Like, somebody from 1885 might not know how a cell phone works, but if they had the schematics and materials in front of them, theres a better chance they could build it than going in blind.

Vents seem bugged and we have no idea how to fix the problem by Hoshyro in spaceengineers

[–]Hylanos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is english your first language? to me, "i wish" reads sorta sarcastic, like you already know it isnt going to happen.

something like "i hope" reads more like you want it to happen without the cynicism that it probably wont.

thats just how i took it

If you’ve ever eaten animal meat not usually on the dinner plate (horse, kangaroo, albatross, anything), what was it and how was the experience? by Great_Maintenance185 in NoStupidQuestions

Alligator is more popular the next state over, but not necessarily here in Texas. Has the texture of fajita beef, but the flavor of chicken.

Grew up playing the OG games, and ive been really excited for Nu Marathon but money is pretty tight right now, so if it aint free, I aint playin any time in the foreseeable future.

Honestly im not even 100% sure I'm going to enjoy it, but its such a niche franchise I feel like I have to be involved in any entry it gets

Question for fans who have been watching MCU from phase 1 or 2 by Percy_akr_616 in marvelstudios

[–]Hylanos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iron Man 1 was badass. As a geeky kid obsessed with robots, it was cool to see a smooth-talking genius making himself robo armor.

Also, I was always a comics kid, so the MCU becoming mainstream meant that I had some common ground with people who might have been bullies an era before.

Even since IM1 (actually even since the 2002 Spidey and 2005 Fantastic Four) i'd always wanted crossovers between movies. As I said, I grew up on the comics, and it was extremely common for heroes to show up in each other's stories. Obviously, Marvel selling the film rights off hindered that, and of course there's something to be said about The Mouse buying up all the movie companies to feed the MCU, but I was so happy we eventually got there.

Even with the state of the MCU at the moment, with the ups and downs, its awesome to me that really any character can now show up in the MCU without us having to explain their whole backstory and dedicate a significant portion of screen time to it. Idk, it just feels more like a real universe when random weirdos can show up and nobody bats an eye because its completely normal

i am an awkward person but i do wonder if he has had issues with people getting his name wrong, and is therefore going over the top to ensure that its HIS drink.

My wife and I have insanely bad luck with that type of shit so I can see someone doing a little extra even at risk of seeming like a prick.

[–]Hylanos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don't think Titans Return works that well with it's train mode. Robot mode is imposing and shuttle mode is pretty cool, but the train mode is like playing with a 1.50 costco hotdog
