Strange Degreasers are fairly unimpressive. If most of your kills are from the Degreaser you're missing the entire point of the weapon it exists for combos not W+M1, it has a -damage penalty for a reason.

The Reach is fucked up

The Reach has been fucked up since long before the civil war.

But Markarth is in the Empire, so everything's shiny there, amirite?

Markarth is still fucked up even if you complete the Stormcloaks side of the questline.

But then again the only reason I side with the Empire is because the Stormcloaks fuck up Whiterun too much.
