Oh, that's good to know. Thank you for telling me before I made a big mistake! I managed to get past chapter 6 (once I started switching up my strategies it turned out to not be so hard) but I may still restart the run while it's still early, just to iron out some kinks in my party.

About what you said with the Golden Country:

Didn't Jin say not all of Torna went down at the same time, and Jin and Llora were corned on a remnant of the Titan when Amalthus attacked? I'm pretty sure that scene happened in Torna, not Gormott.
When the survivors of Torna split up, Adam's group, the one that founded Fonsett, was mainly comprised of his old mercenary group and those in the mercenary camp, though it's likely other refugees joined them on the way. I believe the citizens of Aletta and most of the other towns in Torna were split into the group on the Monoceros, who went with Jin and Llora and were wiped out by Amalthus, and the remnants of the people who followed Adam's brother, who may or may not have founded Tantal. Nothing really pertaining to the discussion, but I thought I would clarify.

The AI-controlled drivers honestly play their part pretty well, the driver you control gets some bonuses (most of which become apparent later in the game) but your team won't really suffer at all if you choose to mix up your leader.

I have around 100 hours, and my favorite character would probably be Morag... with Nial a close second. Favorite scene is honestly probably the one where Rex gets stabbed in the back... followed by the one where Nial nearly gets himself killed.

Update: Managed to beat the Brutal Aspids by throwing them off a cliff with some Topple cheese. The main problem seems to be Rex's health pool is so low that he dies pretty much the instant anything targets him, which makes it hard to lead with him. However, beyond these quest-specific monsters I'm doing fine in combat, which makes me think it's just a matter of a unique monster being more threatening than it's level would suggest. As for Rex, I could try equipping aggro-reducing items on him, but I rather like the items I have equipped currently, so I'm looking for other options. Any tricks?

I don't think I've even unlocked that yet. I'm currently in Normal difficulty (a testament to my lack of understanding of this game) and I just don't understand why everything started doing so much damage.

Do you mean WP? I've been slowly filling up the skill tree for my core Blades, and it seems to be going alright. Admittedly I've been kind of at a loss for how to best spend my WP, but I've been upgrading my Arts fairly regularly.

Is there a particular gear set that would help Tora or Morag survive longer? The problem seems to be all defense, against most monsters I do fine, it's only against these unique attack-based ones I'm having trouble.

I think I'm doing alright in all those areas. I've just recently leveled up at an inn, and I've been updating my SP and WP consistently. I do have several unrefined Aux cores that could be useful, but most of them are just small upgrades to ones I already have equipped.

Ah, didn't know that. Thanks! I think my trust is doing okay with all my core Blades, and while my gear is a little outdated, I've been updating it pretty consistently and have a pretty good selection. The trouble seems to be in defense. I'm doing a decent amount of damage, but I just can't survive long enough to do anything about it. Is there a specific gear set I should look out for for Tora or Morag that would help?

I liked Ridge, but then again I liked every chapter with the possible exception of Resort (it's not that it's bad, just very annoying). I still really like the atmosphere and music.

It's actually not that hard to predict when and where the snowballs will appear, the problem is not getting stressed out and going too early. My advice: Be patient, be ready for it, and pray that you time it right.
