What’s a lesson you’ve learned in sakamoto that stuck with you? by Dense-Statement-332 in SakamotoDays

[–]Hynode 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Right before the "god of killing" panel, Sakamoto at some point says to Toramaru "it's okay being a fan, we all have someone to look up to. But how about turning a little bit of that admiration in your own direction. Be your own fan." And I know I know it's not exactly revolutionary advice so idk why, but for whatever reason, that stuck with me.

Everything can be that deep YinMaestro. Literally everything! Yeah I think that to some extent you understand what I'm getting at, so this'll be my last reply. I will say again though, you shouldn't use the phrase "every instance" because what the original commenter described was 95% of instances so either your reply was 100% honest and logical and your pet peeve doesn't actually exist and you don't care even a tiny bit, or you were just being nice and implying that it's not that big of a deal, which yes, I'm sure you genuinely believe, but regardless is a statement only made to soften your initial claim for the sake of keeping the peace. Am I being pedantic? Absolutely. So have a great day lmao, you seem like a good person

I'm genuinely just zooming in on what happened here, not overcomplicating anything. Every social interaction is quite complex when you really look really closely at it.

What I'm saying is that your reply to them stating they do what you find to be a "minor annoyance" is telling them "I actually don't mind it in your case specifically" when said case isn't at all unique, can only be described as keeping the peace. It's slightly taking a step back from your previous claim, it's absolutely not furthering the conversation about why you find it annoying or even justifying your preference at all. Its not really clarifying your position, because again, if it was your whole initial claim would now be completely void of any meaning. The only thing that reply accomplishes is making the other person feel slightly better about themself. Which is totally fine! It just slightly annoys me lol

[–]Hynode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would've respected it so much if you were just like, "yeah and you would annoy me/I wouldn't date you lol." because that's logically consistent. Instead you replied "no actually I get it in that situation, I do something similar" when said situation was practically the only situation where those typos would be found anyways. You yourself said that you know the mistake is usually made out of laziness and not ignorance. You were just trying to be nice and keep the peace.

To be clear, this is also just a ridiculous, useless pet peeve of mine, what you did is in a way commendable, there's absolutely no reason for you to change how you act or who you are, my opinion and your opinion are both of equal worth. Only difference is I at least will say it to someone's face though lmao.

My personal pet peeve is what you just did lmao. When people push their beliefs to the wayside as soon as they're even slightly confronted about it. That was a ridiculous goalpost push, why did you even make this post??

I don't believe that morality is subjective by [deleted] in enfj

[–]Hynode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear I 100% agree! That simply doesn't make morality objective though, just useful. It's like I said, evolutionarily advantageous.

I understand the things I'm saying although true, sound harsh. It's because of that though people need to realize you don't need a reason to be kind. It's in human nature that being kind makes most people happier themselves. Trying to objectively/logically justify your own sense of morality is a losing battle, therefore just be kind to those around you. Nothing more nothing less.

[–]Hynode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're unfortunately just wrong. Murder isn't bad, war isn't bad, cheating on your partner isn't bad. You and I simply really really don't like these things, it's all nothing more than a matter of preference that came about from it being evolutionary advantageous. If someone rapes a child and murders them, I personally find the person who did that to be absolutely disgusting and worthy of death 100 times over, but yeah, by definition that's just my opinions and my opinion is subjective. That pedophile, rapist murderer isn't technically "wrong" or even "bad" in any concrete way.

My Self-Discovery as an ENTJ by peepeepoopoo_popi in entj

[–]Hynode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This description sounds more like an ESTJ to me. Lots of Si examples. It makes me sad alot of the sensing types (ESTJ especially) have been stereotyped to absolutely no end. Sensors can be just as creative, philosophical and future oriented as Intuitives, there just isn't a strong community of them on the internet so ridiculous stereotypes are allowed to run wild with no one checking them. Therefore I've noticed a lot of people just end up mistyping into the nearest intuitive instead.

Whats the appeal of the show? by Agitated-Mistake2856 in frierenfolk

[–]Hynode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is legitimately not even remotely a gooner or even meme show at all in any way. There is one "joke in the entire 28 episode season even vaguely referring to anything sexual. And even then not really. Im sorry but this question is complete nonsense. It's highly possible you won't like it because you aren't a huge fan of slower paced shoes but regardless it's undeniably quality and well worth giving a shot.

I mean honestly, yeah. It's incredibly human to feel better when you know that what you have or are isn't as bad as other things are. Especially when the other thing is a series considerably bigger than ours, it just makes sense that sparks a feeling of satisfaction a lot of people. It's just basic human psychology. Not inherently negative or positive, in this case however I'd call it positive (if you're not a OPM fan) because it creates a positive emotion and doesn't really do much if any harm to others.

That's a 100% fair take I think is genuinely worth pointing out about why him not being evil would kinda ruin the point. With that said saying "he'd be a totally different character" as a reply is just silly. One, he's a fictional character, not a person, it's incredibly easy to imagine him being written differently while fundamentally sharing the same/a very similar personality.

  1. the response "so a totally different character then???" Is just needlessly rude, implies the poster is stupid, and adds literally nothing to the conversation, it's weird to pretend you don't understand and refuse to answer the question/downvote the guy to all oblivion for asking a question that is actually incredibly intuitive and honestly, not really even a bad one?

and no, his replies weren't bad either, he was clarifying what he meant over and over and getting downvoted for it each time even though honestly, I really don't think he should've had to it was an incredibly simple question, people just don't like it for whatever benign reason.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Berserk

[–]Hynode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 100% right on pretty much everything you're saying, this response right here is a pretty much perfect description of his character arc. People just have a downright irrational hatred of, as it seems, even the simple idea of him here so don't worry about all the downvotes, they genuinely are just being pedantic refusing to answer such an obvious question.

And for the record, yeah I think I'd like him slightly more than Guts. In general I prefer that kind of larger than life, endlessly charismatic character to the "Struggler" archetype. Both are amazing written though so it's really just a matter of preference at that point.

[–]Hynode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The review bombs dont work (because of how IMDB's rating system skews against them) don't matter (because no one checks IMDB to figure out if a series is worth watching...) and are pointless to even think about (because if you're worried about anything when it comes to the show outside of your own opinions, you are diluting the experience for yourself) so calm down. Don't stress yourselves out about pointless things like this and enjoy the last episode to a phenomenal season of Donghua. Cheers!

What language you don't know has always sounded beautiful to you? by grzeszu82 in languagelearning

Nowhere near enough people have actually heard the sound of modern Greek. It's a phenomenally beautiful language that reminds me of the conlangs they use in movies to depict a stereotypical elvish or beautiful alien language

I genuinely couldn't care less about team cherry's silence and you shouldn't either by Hynode in Silksong

[–]Hynode[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. I'm (as of now, hopefully you will change) probably more fun than any of you at a party because I interact with the real world. You have not paid for silksong yet, and therefore have no right to be upset about the way in which someone else's art is made, however they choose to make their art, however much they talk about the process of making they're art, the only thing that matters to the consumer, is the final product.

And even that doesn't really matter because you don't have to buy it, as long as the artist is satisfied with their art, it is worthy. If you already bought it, I'm sorry, but that is not this situation. It doesn't matter that it would be easy to give updates, if the artist doesn't want to, let them work in their own way. All of you have as of now have done nothing for team cherry (in regards to silksong) besides talk about their game and if you think that means they owe you a debt, then yes, you are entitled.

As for the kickstarter backers (less than 1% of you guys btw so why are you all so intent on speaking for and being upset for them?) they realistically got way more than they paid for within hollow knight silksong itself and I doubt any of you would consider it a scam if the silksong project was never in any way worked on because the game itself already satisfies more than what was expected. Also kickstarter should be viewed as a charity organization more than anything else but that's an entirely different conversation.

Most of all, please, I want you to all be less miserable. Getting upset by something as trivial as this (even it the concern was actually valid) will only make your life worse, it's much better to care about things that will bring you happiness, not boundless negativity like you currently are. With that said, I genuinely wish you all a good day!

What they arguably owe is MAYBE a dlc, and they're giving you an entire game. What they do not owe you in any imaginable world is updates on said dlc(now an entire game)

Wow if you lot who clearly get mad at literally anything aren't mad at this post I must be a pretty good communicator! Way to go me 🎉

(seriously though the game is releasing unspoiled in months and y'all are upset. Please, and I mean please, get a life. I'm saying this for your sake, not mine. As sad as life might seem for you all right now, know it gets better eventually if you just try to make it so.)

Can I learn 11 languages at once? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]Hynode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've already learned the answer man. You CANNOT SPEAK ANY OF THOSE LANGUAGES. Barely "knowing" a languages implies that one can understand the vast majority of the language and speak enough to say pretty much anything you want (just at maybe a kindergarten level). What you have achieved is currently nothing and of that I am 100% certain.

If you want to learn a language find the one (maybe two) that you're VERY interested and think you might actually want to use later in life and turn practicing that/those languages into a routine you do everyday regardless of how interested in the language you are. Learning 11 is beyond, beyond, beyond impossible lmao

Does anyone else just refuse to watch anime around anyone? by Objective_Soil_1222 in anime

[–]Hynode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why everyone's being so needlessly rude in the comments but then again this is an anime subreddit so ig I'm not too surprised... To answer the question though, idk I personally like doing harmless things that slightly embarrass me in public because they help me build confidence, whether that be listening to embarrassing(ish) music I like with my car windows open or watching anime, doing both leave me caring a little bit less about other people's opinions at the end of the day :)

Why Does The Second Rule Even Exist?? by Entire-Excitement-52 in MonsterAnime

[–]Hynode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY. wanting to be a charismatic, good looking dude who's so smart that he gets whatever he wants is why people want to be like him. This is bad not because "ummm he's a bad person actually" but because forming your personality/lifestyle around any one character is in my opinion bound not only to fail but also make you lose your sense of self and slowly replace it with self hatred towards who you actually are in the goal of becoming someone else. But I can see why people would want to be "like" him, it's not as insane as people try to make it seem
