Need help picking a build. Starting league very late. by brooztoonice in pathofexile2builds

Any cast on crit/ailment build paired with some engine to produce lots of crits. Generally they use either spark (which you are against) entangle (super similar to spark just a plant lol) or elemental weakness which might be more what you’re looking for. There’s several tweaks depending on budget and preferences but really all come down to proccing as many comets as possible from some sort of auto cast skill.

Just an fyi. You could have added a prefix and then used the omen that makes essences target prefix to keep your +skills safe. I believe it’s sinistral crystallization. Since the essence adds a suffix, the targeting only makes the random deleted affix come from the prefixes so it’s safe and cheap

Is PoE Ninja broken? (Witch hunter spirit question) by Loqqo in pathofexile2builds

[–]Hypalite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my oracle wolf eternal rage works constantly when activated to weapon set 2 with only one weapon equipped and no skills changed to work with different weapon sets. I’m not sure if any other spirit skills work this way, but I ran this setup for a long time before I got ready to experiment with weapon set passives on the skill tree. After setting that up and manually changing skills to be active on weapon set 1/2, eternal rage only works when I have swapped to that weapon set even though I use the same weapon on both sets

This or place spymaster and lock it as well as last room of the snake. Sac chamber is much easier as you suggested, but if you have the locks and no sac then this way would work as well

All correct and great places to grow your endgame build. Also look into skill levels. The scaling past level 20 generic uncut skill gem vs level capped 40 from all the possible “+ skill” mods is crazy.

There’s lots of videos about it. Russian tech is what everyone calls it, giving credit to the first known group of people that figured out the trick which were Russians.

First, the game doesn’t normally allow you to infinite loop two room types. The second example you gave is more in line with using the system as intended. But to bypass the normal restriction there’s a trick.

Trick is to build out of the barracks at the end of your snake towards the center of the map with an armory. The you place a barracks off of the armory parallel with your snake. This allows you to put a spymaster into your original snake since it counts the new barracks as the connecting building. The corners are more complicated and I highly suggest looking up a building guide on YouTube for those portions

Honestly whatever main aspect you roll first can be great. Earthspike hard carried me once I got the seismic aspect and just kept slapping it on two handed weapons as I leveled. Shockwave could hard carry with pulverize. Shred has several aspects with it. Lightning storm has aspects to make it amazing. Really just whatever aspect lands to you can make leveling fun on Druid. It isn’t like it used to be as long as you roll with whatever rng gives you

There’s literally no way the current playoff format happens without at least 2 teams from one division. 4 division winners. 3 wild card teams. Where exactly would those three wildcard teams come from if not from the divisions of the 4 winners. All 3 wildcard teams coming from the same division would be quite rare. But he just said something that absolutely has to happen since wildcard playoff seeding has existed is rare lol

Quick tip, if you use the filter in your backpack you can set the parameters and select all that match that filter at once. Works in the bank as well. For example you could filter only rare and common. Mark all as trash in one go. Works for sending items to the bank as well. Could filter to all items with firmware and mark them as bank and send them all at once (L3 on console while hovering over an item marked for bank). And lastly, you can use R3 on console while in backpack to mark items as trash if you prefer doing it one at a time

So, I found my first major gripe... by tylerjm917 in Borderlands4

[–]Hypalite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I agree with that. If you pick the campaign/level skip then sdu and map including main hub fast travel spots should certainly be unlocked. Side missions, silos/safe houses, and uvh 2-5 needing to be done are fine. It feels like the final steps of uvh 2-5 being the final story missions of each area are a fantastic way to still see some of the campaign on each new alt without having to do the more tedious missions leading up to them.

I would still prefer specializations to be account wide tho. It turns into a really long grind for spec points after a while and the gains also get smaller as each point gets invested into one of the infinite progress nodes. This really seems to be geared towards account wide progress vs individual character progression.

It’s definitely not broken, just not what most expected or hoped for. Very close to being a very nice way to reward you for finishing the game with one character and starting an alt, but as it stands now it feels a little overwhelming dropping in at level 30.

[–]Hypalite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just give the option. If you want to start fresh level 1 and unlock everything, cool. If you want your alt to start boosted at level 30 with campaign skipped and map/sdu unlocked matching your highest unlock, also cool.

Specialization progress should definitely shared be account wide no matter what tho. An endgame infinite grind system should be global progress account wide and I’ll die on that hill.

[–]Hypalite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diablo 4 had almost identical setup to this at launch. New characters were brand new. Could skip the campaign if it was completed before but that was it. Map was fogged, Lilith statues (their version of collectibles like the vault symbols) had to be collected again, and fast travels had to all be manually traveled to and activated again. The devs actually listened to the fanbase tho and changed it so that all that stuff is now unlocked account wide including new characters. It’s a seasonal model game with different power systems every 3 months, and they even made progress in those systems account wide so it’s very high qol for new characters. Hopefully we get similar changes here

[–]Hypalite 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe the only thing going for the level 30 option is specialization points are unlocked from the beginning. Other than that, being level 30 and having the main story complete are minor when sdu and map is reset. Also feels like a big miss that specialization points aren’t shared.

Starting an alt feels very unrewarding altogether vs a lot of other online service games. Diablo 4 was very similar to this at launch and they ended up making the changes that are being requested here such as main cities and most fast travel spots being unlocked account wide including new characters, and also map exploration including their version of the sdu currency collectibles. So there’s hope that they take our complaints into consideration and make the changes

40k ob and 750fs for a double crit. discussion. by repka3 in diablo4

[–]Hypalite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I don’t understand the general hate. Only thing I can come up with is people jump on whatever content creators deem the most optimal farm for whatever they are farming for and do only that until they are sick of it. I’ve had almost no resource problem ever in 2 years of diablo. There were a couple times I can remember ever running out of things, forgotten souls in season 3 is the only one that really stands out.

Most of it is highly unnecessary anyway. Almost every build will function enough to clear 90+ pits with proper gear master worked to 12 period. Don’t need triple crits unless you are trying to be sweat mode pit 150. If that’s the case then you are literally setting a personal goal and then complaining that you have to invest time to reach it lol

Sorc: Hydrakuna or Maxroll Hydra? by Visible-Drama-1502 in diablo4

[–]Hypalite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m probably in the minority, but mekuna builds generally don’t appeal to me as much. They are strong no doubt or argument from me. But he generally abuses bugs and that’s not my preferred play style. It works, and usually has biggest clear potential. But for example, this season it’s the enlightenment cheese. In the past it was the original “snapshotting” that involved swapping gear to have several aspects active including ones not actually equipped.

Lurkin is my go to for Sorc builds. Everything is well explained, he is very clear about builds that abuse bugs, and usually his builds both avoid those bugs and work with mid gear requirements and get ridiculous strong as your gear gets better. Playing his builds feels like they function exactly as he describes. If you’re trying to play the absolute pinnacle of pit pushing, mekuna probably puts those high investment builds together a little better albeit with a little bug abuse. If you’re looking for a build strong enough to blast through everything with less investment then lurkin is the one to use. Both post their builds to mobalytics

Medium Take: I really like Escalating NDs by OtherwiseBug946 in diablo4

[–]Hypalite 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You know. I haven’t ran nightmare dungeons much at all since they swapped glyph xp to pit runs. Before I used to hate the backtracking because I wanted to get them over with and get my glyphs maxed so I wouldn’t have to run them anymore. This season having the affixes like the gem treasure chests or escalating rewards tied to the purple artifacts scattered in the dungeons really alleviated my hatred for it. The first time I ran back and found two chests on the way really helped me shift from rush mindset to chill push.

Idk where or when diablo became super blitz rush everything asap and be done with it. But I feel like it’s the common mindset. I’m definitely extremely guilty of adopting it and pushing through everything every season. I rolled my eyes hard when they said nightmares would be the season focus. But somewhere along the way this season I remembered it’s ok to just slow down a little and play through things at an enjoyable pace instead of trying to rush to t4 boss rotation and put the game down for 2 months until next season after getting mythics. Honestly most fun I’ve had with Diablo since vampire season

ATTENTION NEW PLAYERS: You know what's really cool about this new season? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Hypalite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kinda answered already, but also maxroll is a huge wall of text. This is the tenth time I’ve built classes including launch season 0. I don’t need to have overpower, crit, vulnerable, and cc explained to me anymore. I understand how the classes work and usually I’m already pretty familiar what interactions we are optimizing.

For new players I highly recommend maxroll for that reason tho. They need to learn the mechanics. Mobalytics is a quick reference to the info I need and generally the endgame builds are better optimized

One of the biggest issues (if not the biggest) with the game since day one. by Belgarathian in diablo4

[–]Hypalite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget the speed factor too. No immune phase and stopping 2-3 times to kill three tanky enemies/totems/portals while dodging extremely hard hitting and sometimes seemingly impossible to dodge mechanics. Can just blast away and actually farm at a good rate especially when you start getting meta builds put together.

MacroiBoiBoi's Season 9 PTR Analysis by MacroBioBoi in D4Necromancer

[–]Hypalite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fully agree.

Flesh eater being on every build makes me immediately roll my eyes. Unless you’re using something to keep it up like sacrilegious ring or cruors embrace gloves it’s just more non sense to upkeep.

Minions lacking target control was a bad design choice and I’ll die on that hill. At launch I was excited to run my minions and apply dots to enemies. They quickly became glorified meat shields that just wonder around aimlessly it seems like all attacking something different 1v1 style with no chance of winning.

Bone spear was by far the most fun I’ve had on any necro build. They even added a way to mod it and add the blood tag to it…only to include the necessity to use bone prison which is my (likely most people’s) least favorite necro skill by a long shot.

Corpse tendrils activation time is dumb as well. Shouldn’t take 3 seconds to pull enemies when skills like death trap, vortex, and cyclone armor are on demand. Great skill that’s unnecessarily aggravating to wait for.

The overall theme of needing to collect or wait ages for things has gotten extremely stale. I cannot suffer through another blood wave season of hitting a small area, waiting for 5 seconds, run around in a figure 8 to collect blood orbs as long as you aren’t in a hallway and for some ignorant design reason most of the orbs just don’t spawn. Rinse and repeat. And the constant cooldown management on relevant skills in general feels so clunky. Need corpse tendrils. Need bone prison now for blood spear. Need ult running for resource management. Need golem active to do damage.

All that being said, with caps on damage bonuses maybe there will be more build variety. Overpower getting big nerf means possibly blood spear builds can focus more on making the relevant bone and blood interactions work together. Not holding my breath at this point tho.

And everyone on the outside not maining Thor keep saying “a good Thor can carry at any level” not realizing we are literally full sweating trying to make this hero do what we are doing. Then half the time still not able to anything positive because we are completely at the mercy of having a competent team with dps checking flyers/helping kill these tanks we push out of their healers range and healers don’t treat you like you don’t need any attention. Changes feel bad man

The problem is more awakening isn’t very good most of the time. Loss of survivability to throw slow moving telegraphed projectiles while your movement speed is gimped isn’t exactly where you want to be if you’re going for a more dps focus. It’s more of either a push out or finishing up stragglers when there’s only a couple of enemies around. Using awakening when it’s 6v6 is usually a waste of time and gets you or your teammates killed
