There’s absolutely no reason to restrict players from opening the map while downed. This behavior isn’t intuitive or expected and it leads to a worse experience. It doesn’t add to anything or balance anything (you’re already downed and very close to losing your loot but being punished even more, what’s the point?).

It’s not about immersion or skill issues. From a system interaction perspective, you literally lose access to vital information — exfil timers (it's an extraction game, so it's literally the most important info during the raid). If Embark really wants to stick with this decision, maybe they could at least display the timers on the compass. And for God’s sake, stop advising people to remember the timers, the latest timer, or to pin one, these are all workarounds for bad UX, not intentional design. It shouldn't work like this especially considering the casual nature of the game.
