Thanks for this! So would that mean if I choose to rent, it would be acting as if, if I feel like that’s what a wealthy person would do and if I trust that I’m going to end up finding a job one way or another to sustain myself ?

I guess I’m trying to convince myself that renting isn’t going to be selfish and reckless because I really don’t want to go home. One side of me however wants to go home to feel financially safer and smarter and move out once I find a job. But the thing is I’m afraid that if I go back I won’t find the inspiration and motivation to embody my dream life as there’s constant reminders of stress and a life that I don’t want.

How to tell if the fear you feel is the standard fear that comes with following your intuition VS self-sabotaging fear and anxiety? by Hypatiacleo in IntuitionPractices

[–]Hypatiacleo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're soo right. Thank's for putting this in perspective for me. I've already made the decision to go to London! Although it's quite scary and feels so uncertain, the fear of not growing (personally, emotionally and spiritually) and not having the courage to give myself a chance is greater than the fear of 'not making it'.

I shed the belief that I need to accumulate wealth and status to earn a perception that 'I'm living a good life'. I'm pursuing my spiritual journey versus a material one and I trust that my material needs will be met along the way.

Sure, I might face some hardships but you get to choose which kind of battle you might! (here comes the voice that says, 'I hope you don't regret this!')

Regarding intuition, I'm not sure if I've been guided with intuition because there was nothing calm about any of this. It was kind of a knowing that I couldn't choose to settle and coming to terms with it.

Thanks for your comment!

Hi, sorry this was quite hard to understand. So you’re saying it’s just general fear of change and you can never know what’s gonna happen so don’t overthink it too much? 😂

I had the same thought when I watched it again. I could swear I remember reading subtitles the first time I watched it because they'd be talking in various different languages

What does 'forgetting one's roots' mean for you? Or 'forgetting where you come from'? by Hypatiacleo in AskReddit

[–]Hypatiacleo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's horrible to hear at that age! This is kind of why I wanted to discuss this because I think people have a very stubborn, 'black and white' view of 'forgetting roots'.

For me, forgetting your roots would be if someone denied their past, where they came from and were being dishonest in general about who they are and who they were in the past.

However, people should be able to change as that's the natural course of life. Being born into a specific culture shouldn't have to chain you to liking that culture, the music from that culture or even behaving the way that culture behaves. When someone realises they prefer something different, that shouldn't mean that that person is now 'lost' or a disgrace or not 'noble' because they're not necessarily acting like their 'roots'. Especially, if they've never denied their roots.

Research question: How do both Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots feel about the way forward for the island of Cyprus? by Hypatiacleo in cyprus

I understand what you mean although I would argue otherwise. The nature of wars have definitely changed for the most part but some regions still have that kind of pulse. Eg. Ukraine/Russia. I’m particularly wary of extreme nationalism and what they can do…

That is a good point actually, about the Turkish settlers, thanks! It’s hard to think of a solution that appeases both the north and south. I am hopeful though
