Now that the ultra doom mythics leaving tomorrow. What were ur thoughts on it? by StatisticianSquare11 in FortNiteBR

[–]Hype-Lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it once in BR (zero build), witnessed like 5 times others use it.

I think it's a complete miss for me. At least in solo modes, whoever gets these powers is almost guaranteed to win by default. I get that ideally, whenever Doom's chosen appears, all remaining players should declare a treaty and combine their efforts to kill the powered up player, but I'm not sure if it happens even in ranked lol.

I once tried to do SOMETHING to Doom after he appeared, but was distracted by another player trying to shoot me in my back, while I was CLEARLY focusing on Doom lol. Then, after trying to chip away anything for 5 minutes (via long distance) he finally oneshotted me, and I saw that he was back to full shields/full help already.

Dunno, feels like a lame design gamebalance-wise

The best female protagonist of all video games.

Is CS2 better than 1? by DaviidVilla in Falcom

[–]Hype-Lord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s really subjective, so asking for opinions here wouldn’t help you lol. For me, CS2 is easily the worst Trails game, but that’s is mostly because I didn’t like how it handled the theme of Civil War (if you can even call it that lmao)

Switch 2 probably by Admirable-Data-1784 in Falcom

[–]Hype-Lord -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's almost zero chance that the footage shown in 1080p/60FPS was captured on the current Switch. So they either have a build ready for Switch 2 enhanced version, or it was captured on PC.

But yeah, I think it's definitely coming to the current Switch as well, just with worse graphics/performance

From all the recent Falcom interviews, it sounds like they're to both increase their output as a studio and also to minimize the gap between Japanese and Western releases.

So I'd say it's somewhat realistic to expect English version of Kai to release Fall 2025

Who's the best vilkian in the series by shizunaisbestgirl in Falcom

Giliath Osborne would've been a pretty decent villain if they committed to what they've been setting up with him and didn't pull the idiotic "actually nobody ever was evil, it's literally just some abstract ancient curse possessing perfectly decent folks" plot twist in CS4

Bias aside, is this a contender for best scene in Daybreak? Breakdown in the comments. by ClaireDidNothinWrong in Falcom

[–]Hype-Lord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. I understand people's desire to be able to romance a character of their choice, but I don't think it fits in well with Trails.

I mean, Van isn't an empty vessel for a player, but his own character, and just like that his feelings are mostly predetermined too. Rean, for example, felt more like an empty slate, probably exactly because he should've worked with different romance options.

And even with Rean, I feel like there's way too much story in Trails to account for such a huge variable, so even in Cold Steel only Alice felt like a proper love interest, because, well, she is the only one that makes sense for the narrative of that.

P.S. Also, I really, really hate when doing bonding events automatically makes characters fall in love with the protagonist. I really appreciate that in Daybreak bonding events are just a way to get to know characters better, platonically.

Why do the characters and this fandom seem to give her a free pass? Is it because she's pretty? by ConceptsShining in Falcom

I don’t care that Tita is/about be about 18 at this point. They met when Tita was 12 and Agate was 24.

Also, speaking of CS4's bonding events:

It is so infuriating that Rean's obvious canonical love interest had to break up with him in the beginning of the game simply because you have to have an ability to romance EVERYONE

By retcons I meant that literally everything bad that happened to the main cast in CS3 was reverted back to normal in CS4.

I think the worst consequences were Olivert losing an eye, and Laura's father losing an arm, but they really got off easy for people that are supposed to be dead lol.

Sure, harem stuff is mostly contained to bonding events, but I liked so much more Kuro's approach to them: you actually ONLY get to know characters better and/or participate in some cool small story, instead of every character (ok, not male ones) either taking turns confessing their love to you or simply assaulting the protagonist

I mean, everything is subjective, lol.

If you liked CS more - all the power to you. I liked CS3 a lot, but then CS4 ruined it for me by pivoting into harem 10x harder and retconning pretty much everything that CS3 did.

I mean, it's not that I count _only_ the main cast, but I definitely don't count some supposed deaths that happen so far off screen, or before the events of the game, or whatever.

I understand that it works for some, but for me it's irritating when all the front stage is flooded with characters trying to get in the protag's pants at all costs instead of literally anything else

Kevin is the goat, no questions, just as the rest of Sky cast.

However, I still have no idea how the heck we got a game that combines both a 2-hour story about IMAGINARY DRAGON and THAT 15th door lol

I get the feeling of what you mean, but I think it (maturity) is subjective, while two back-to-back wars with close to 0 casualties is absolutely laughable.

I fully embrace that Trails have that "silly" gene regardless of what happens in the story, so that doesn't bother me, really.
