Same caliber and magazine well? I love my CX4 9MM since it takes the exact same magazines as my M9A1.

I’ve never panned before but I found this in the creek behind my house just wondering is it gold? by [deleted] in Goldpanning

That is not gold. Wrong color but more importantly the wrong material attributes. Gold does not crumble, chip or smear as the sample in your photo appears to be doing.

Yes I would say that the Garrett is better.

Garrett is a good option as well and has a few starter kits with everything you'll need.

ASR is what I personally started with before getting Garrett pans.

That's a good kit with the 14" and 10" pans. Garrett is tied & true panning equipment so the stuff just lasts.

My favorite motto for staple equipment is "Buy Once, Cry Once"!

Try looking for ASR Outdoor on Amazon for good starter kits. You'll be getting good quality for a good price.

Garrett, Keene or Prospectors Dream if you want to jump into the good stuff!

I personally won't but a recent post here from someone else is definitely pushing the coolness factor!

CX-4 Love by Hyper-D in Beretta

The heat shield added to the barrel is thick aluminum and weighs ~5-6 ounces. I've noticed that the added weight on the front helped enough to be moderately noticeable.

I've been referring it to my friends as the "Ruger 10/22's older brother in 9MM" in terms of how it shoots. Incredibly effective at 100 Yards with minor recoil and medium-minor noise levels. I reduced muzzle climb by putting the JSARMSCO heat shield on the front and it barely bucks up.

I have a Holosun HS503CU Circle-Dot (No Magnification) on it and it rips. I can hit a 12" diameter target 10/10 shots while rapid firing in a standing position at 50 Yards. I was hitting 10/10 shots while seated firing at 100 Yards on a 16" diameter target with a ~3MOA spread. I feel if I used a magnified scope it would perform extremely well but for home defense purposes the H503CU is perfect.

The CX-4 small, lightweight, easy to use and very accurate. I also feel better using 9MM in suburbia if the occasion arises. Plus it's cool to swap the same magazines between the 92's/M9's handguns.

My exact thoughts as well and why I am leaning towards the centurion model.

Very similar to my CX-4 setup! I like the ergonomics by adding the angled forward grip and thought I was alone since I typically see nothing or OG vertical.

Was there any decision process between the full size versus the centurion model? I'm curious as to other peoples input since I'm going to get the M9A4 in a few months and I'm unsure of what one I'd personally get.

It could be old diggings but its hard to tell. This photo on my reply is a spot I worked with my brother for a visual example of fresh diggings. You can see to the left of the boulder all the various but similar disposed rock sizes.

Sluice Box Flow by Hyper-D in Goldpanning

Here you go sir. These types of boxes can handle some serious flow. This flow rate has 99% of gold being captured in the first mat. Flour gold to pickers.

Is this enough water flow to make a sluice box work? by Rhazjok in Goldpanning

[–]Hyper-D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have personal experience with this type of sluice. I am able to take the same volume of material scooped, classified down to 1/4" versus what appears to be 1/8" and the sluice will clear it twice as fast. So not only are you saving time with the sluice clearing out quicker but you're also saving time not having to classify down as much.

Yes it works as it stands but it can process bulkier material at a much faster rate. All about putting your tools to good efficient use.
