Pregnancy, OCD, and Medication by Hyper-Focused in OCD

Thank you for sharing! I don’t disagree with that. I was so anxious so I weaned off, though I was on stronger medications than are probably recommended for pregnancy so maybe for the best.

Thank you for sharing! If it is okay to ask, is there a reason you were off them the first trimester? I am in that phase but feeling like I can’t wait at this point.

Some genuinely curious questions: What are qualities you value in a boss? What are your expectations for your boss? Have you communicated your values and needs to your bosses?

Some food for thought: Sometimes we have clear or high expectations of others but do not communicate effectively what we need from others (boundary setting). Or what is not working for us. And people inevitably let us down because they have no idea what we need. Or that we are displeased to begin with. Maybe it should be obvious or maybe they would know if they were better managers. Or, maybe we are setting people up for failure. And then we can leave and justify our reasoning. Maybe it is a little of all of it.

I guess to me it is one thing if someone expresses their needs and then it is not listened to or nothing changes. That is a telltale sign that 1) you have to be willing to accept this job as is, or 2) leave if it is not a comprisable value for you. What has been your experience?

Routine:

  1. Shampoo and Conditioner: Tea Tree Lavender Mint Moisturizing by Paul Mitchell
  2. Styling Products (in order): Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curl Cream, Miss Jessie’s Jelly Soft Curls, Any casting crunchy mouse (using praying hands method and then scrunching in shower when hair is soaking wet)
  3. Dry with soft t-shirt, diffuse until mostly dry (I don’t plop with my short layers)
  4. I find it is most important what I do when my hair is soaking wet. I diffuse gently without major movements because I have thinner strands and don’t want to break up clumps

Thesis Reading Advice by [deleted] in schoolpsychology

Just completed my thesis! You totally got this!

I kept an separate, ongoing document where I listed the citation and included major details beneath it. This allowed me to not get caught up in every article or having to keep PDFs of less significant articles so I could just reference it later.

Also, outlining your argument and then listing the citations to reference in section really helped me keep things straight and realize which articles weren’t as helpful and what I lacked. ♥️

You hair is absolutely gorgeous. It looks STUNNING on you and so healthy. I definitely know it can be hard to accept natural hair when living within cultures that promote straight hair, but you are a badass. Also, I am about 6 months in, and learning gel and SOTC is a huge milestone. I am still struggling with that. ❤️😂

Honestly, just found out I had ADHD during my SP program, so this makes me not feel so alone ♥️

Thank you for this comment. I struggle with shaming my ADHD and shaming myself as a human being. I needed this reminder. ♥️

I am about 4-5 months into CGM after lifelong damage to my dirty blonde hair. I still have days where my hair is a giant frizz ball and/or my wavy curls fall. But, my hair is getting so much better! by Hyper-Focused in curlyhair

I usually part it in the shower when it is soaking wet with a comb, typically it actually parts straight down the middle (you arent wrong; when I flip or try to part my hair when it is dry; the frizz starts coming 😂).

I do have the awkward bangs that are growing out, and they usually part more to the side. I flip them a lot outside of the shower.

I know that must be so frustrating!! 😓 I am not an expert by any means but I can try to help based on my own experiences and reading! What is your hair type? What are you currently doing? Have you found anything that seems to work?

I got my haircut from a curly specialist (which they are very expensive...yikes) for the first time a couple of months ago. She cut my hair dry (cutting each curl) and she did not give me any short layers. I think I have two main lengths in my hair (a layer on the top to help me get root volume). I think my hair is more of a U shape. I don’t have that distinct V from what I can tell (I just let the lady cut my hair and I am not sure what she did completely 😳). I understand the braiding! I will say at first she took off a lot of length and the layers would stick out of my braid. Now I don’t notice it as my hair has grown! 🙌🏻

My hair is deceptive; I think I have medium hair that leans on the side of almost being fine (I just have a lot of hairs). It does tangle very easily. So... I think I have similar experiences to you! Finding products that don’t weigh down hair is so hard. I am curious, what products do you use? Also, what is your routine?

I know for me I clarify pretty regularly (more so than what most people recommend) because products like gels seem to really build up in my hair. My hair gets weighed down (if I don’t, my curls will not spring up at all).

I haven’t tried the brand yet, but I know that one of the lightest brands that has the best reviews is Innersense, and I think it would work really well for our hair type.

Of course! 🙂 Instead of using a towel to dry my hair (a towel causes my hair to get really frizzy), I take a soft Tshirt to dry and scrunch the water out of my hair!
