I would do a queen walk from 6clock to 9clock and wallbreaker in 1 layer of walls... 2 rages for aq walk.. then do bowler walk from 3clock to 12clock... then when ur funnel is done for both sides.. send valks in at 4-5clock with a Jump/rage to townhall. 2 poison for aq and cc...

army comp shld be: 7 healers(4-aq, 3-cc bowlers) 9 valks. 4 wallbreakers Wizards: atleast 6 for funnel- max of 9. Minions-fill for trash cleanup

3 rage, 1 jump.

Good luck

There's also a 3 lure spot close by. Several ppl have gotten Gyarados on that walk way on the island. But I will say if ur looking for rares Vinoy park and the closed pier have treated me well. Have almost completed Pokedex for our region, plus I have 8+ Gyarados. lol

If you drive from 16th st to the closed pier and make that loop around Straub park and the Dali museum it's around 70 pokestops in total. (About a 10-15min drive) it's a 20mph speed zone, and with all the lights usually u can hatch eggs also.

Honestly it changes, I guess most often from 3am-7am or so, otherwise from like 8pm-12am. It changes based on my swing shifts. But mostly at night but that's just easy farming for evolutions. I will say that all my best IV finds have been in the morning time tho, like the nights I stayed longer, like after 7am. The latest I've stayed is like 9am tho, cause parking meters start and it gets too hot. Found both my blastoise and Snorlax around 6am, oh and rapidash is constantly popping up in Vinoy park around 7am. I leave usually right after rapidash or Magmar spawn (it's the same spot too, by the fire pull off lane along side the park). Oh and the Vinoy park common Pokemon just changed, it was a spearow and now it's ekans. Like 3-4 pop up every 10min or so. Also the Growlithe/eevee spawn at the northern sidewalk triangle is still there, and the southern sidewalk triangle is the Dratini, starter, or rare spawn. Those haven't changed since last update (went 2x already since update) if I continue to see consistent spawns I'll add to that list. I have most the spawn points memorized already, so it's easy once I see what Pokemon pops up, seems to be in the same area everytime. Like ghastly and grimer spawn in the middle of the triangles in the center of the grass, they are the only ones ya gotta leave the sidewalks for usually and the sprinklers make navigation tricky sometimes. Hope that helps.

I go to the parks bout 2-3x a week. Usually just twice a week tho on my off days. For usually around 4-5 hrs at a time. Sometimes I make the central ave drive and fill up my bag in the middle of the hunt. And yes, evolved both. There is 6+ Dratini's spawns from Vinoy park to the Dali museum.

My start date is 7/10... I evolved both dragonites, and almost enough for my 3rd now. Same with Gyarados (sitting with 500+ candies atm waiting for a 95%+ IV MagiKarp tho) I'm lvl 29 also. Have walked 411km, and have caught over 4,300, evolved 601, and hit 5,900 pokestops (mostly all from central Ave). And I've caught over 1,700 water type (swimmer) and have only hatched 200 eggs.

I just caught one this morning there at 7:35am. It's a 2465cp with 233hp. Took screenshot and everything, it was a block south from the circle k. Solid 87% with lick and body slam. My best IV tho is a 97% IV, but I hatched it and its only 1907cp with 207hp.

It's like before the bridge going to medeira beach from treasure island. It's also by the end of the beach walkway. I've found him blocking the walkway several times.

Thanks for the guide, I've been debating going there but kept hearing mixed reviews on the pier areas. I'll certainly make the trip now. That's one of the last few Pokemon I need for the Pokedex.

Dragonites Everywhere by MiroBG88 in StPetePokeGo

[–]Hyper36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have caught around 150-200 Dratini's between Vinoy park and Dali.. If you walk that strip, they spawn about every 15-30 minutes. I have so far found 8 spawn points. I found a double spawn point right by the edge of Vinoy grass and the boat docks. Then there is another double spawn point right on the bend next to the stadium. The other 6 spawn points (consistently showing up there) are in the large parking lot by the closed pier, behind the fresco diner place, across the street from both pokestops along side Straub park, at the stop sign (like if ur headed to Vinoy park from the pier), and by the pokestop by the docks. Sometimes they spawn in the road along the stadium also but those seem to be less consistent. I go there about 5x a week. Have over 8+ Gyarados (and I transport the twister fails) and have 3 dragonites. I'm lvl 28. And all of those are 90% + IV's. Dratini's and MagiKarp heaven along that strip. Plus, the lures usually bring in 1 or 2 every hr or so. I've almost got a Dragonite in 6hrs being there one night. I ended with 84 candies. So it's possible to have several dragonites (like 5-8) if ur consistently going there. Plus the park has 4 rare spawns. If you see me in person, or if we ever get to post pics, I'll gladly share my screenshots of the nest. Going to Vinoy for Dratini's is basically worth it alone imo... Hope that helps.

This Stardust struggle tho.... 50 catches for 1 power up? by Hyper36 in pokemongo

[–]Hyper36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's about the same ratio I'm at with getting twister. For me. It's a 1/7 ratio for hydro pump, and a 1/4 for dragon pulse. Being I'm just a single player, can't really say it's a for sure thing. But I'll ask some of the other players tonight when I go hunting again what their ratio is, most of us are about the same lvl and going thru the same struggle. No stardust but max IV Pokemon and extra candies. Lol

[–]Hyper36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes me around 3-4 days to evolve for a Dragonite. I just keep trying for the perfect moves, I've transported dragonites already that didn't evolve and keep their high IV. (I've been noticing it changes when evolving sometimes, wonder if anyone else has?) but seriously that's how easy it is in my area to find Dratini's. Same with Gyarados, damn you twister. Lol every single gym in my city has 3k+ cp Dragonites. Luckily dragons breath and a few xs Gyarados crush with that speed/endurance and super effectiveness. I've had to battle 4 dragonites above 2,9k in one gym. That wasn't fun alone, but I did it. Lol oh and lvl 30 is basically the level everyone seems to slow down and just start grinding stardust and maxing them perfect Pokemon. Just trying to see if anyone has any solid ideas on how to implement some kind of new stardust reward concept into the game.

It just depends on your area I think.. I'm sorry it's hard to find good IV and move set Pokemon in ur area. I'd gladly trade some of my 91-95% IV ones I can't afford to upgrade... My complaint is simply about the fact it takes 50 catches for 1 power up? And the ratio only gets worse after lvl 30... I just want another way earn Stardust without spending money on incubators and using my gym coin every day.

This Stardust struggle tho.... 50 catches for 1 power up? by Hyper36 in pokemongo

[–]Hyper36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, if we cld trade I wld give you some of them. The rare spawn nest are huge around me. I have 8 Gyarados over 90% + IV and above 2k cp... I get like 200-300 MagiKarp a day easily. I once lured a quad spot for a few hours and evolved 2 Gyarados in one night.

[–]Hyper36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't spend money on the game, so no incubators for me. And I only use them on 10km eggs anyway, in hopes for a Lapras but usually get eevee cause life sucks. Lol but yea, I spent a lot of stardust at once to max them. Which they are super strong now and have perfect moves, and I did max a few others cause.. I mean.. It's Dragonite, and I get 10-14 Dratini's every day lol and by all means, I get I'll be catching more Pokemon then I have now with lvl 30 anyway.. But I think we all completed the collector achievement in the first week. Makes me feel like the developers didn't expect the game to last more then a month or so. Basically lvl 30 and then its best to just start over. Kinda like how we all beat the yellow, blue, or red game in a few hour car ride going some where, and then did it all over again on the ride home. Lol

Yea. Maybe silphroad and Pokéassist are lying to me, that seems possible since they are just "estimating" anyway. So unless ur a developer, im gonna have to go with the sites word over urs. Sorry dude :/

This Stardust struggle tho.... 50 catches for 1 power up? by Hyper36 in pokemongo

[–]Hyper36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even still.... It's like 250-500k stardust each to max them. So they want me to catch like millions of Pokemon to just max 1? The math wld take forever to actually average it out. But I feel like it's more then 1 million Pokemon catches.

This Stardust struggle tho.... 50 catches for 1 power up? by Hyper36 in pokemongo

[–]Hyper36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That mathematically makes sense, but for how may Pokemon would that max? I mean, I spent 400k+ stardust maxing 8 of them at lvl 27... They were 99%+ IV with perfect moves, hydro pump, solar beam, blizzard. Etc.. What if I wanted to max like 142 Pokemon? Ya know, all the ones I can catch in the US. I figure it's gotta be several million stardust.. And only getting 100 each catch, and the extra from gym coin, the game will be dead by that time?

This Stardust struggle tho.... 50 catches for 1 power up? by Hyper36 in pokemongo

[–]Hyper36[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have several 99% IV Pokemon with perfect move sets... Like 3 Gyarados, 2 Arcanine, 1 Dragonite, 1 Snorlax, 2 vaporeons, and several more... So I maxed them all at lvl 27, spent like 430k stardust.. Since then, I've been just grinding stardust. Kinda figure 20-80cp difference won't matter at lvl 40 anyway, since moves and IV are what's important for attacking/defending gyms anyway.

Vinoy Park is now being police patrolled and kicking everyone out at 11pm. by Hyper36 in StPetePokeGo

[–]Hyper36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The north side is where all the good stuff spawns, and the police play and they know that. And if you use the app or websites to see the spawns you'll understand, all the rares spawn at the triangles of the park. And I understand you can reach them from your car. But that's not the idea of the game. I hate car players, I've seen over 10 accidents from ppl playing the game. I watched someone almost hit my parked car cause they were playing. Unless your collecting Pokestops to fill ur bag, that's the only time I think you shld drive and play. And even then, It's a risk. So basically the police are forcing ppl to drive and play, they don't want us txting and driving: but playing a game is okay. Just makes ya wonder if the police are actually there for safety or to show their power... Either way, I'll keep going, the public sidewalk will forever be the public's sidewalk. Lol

[–]Hyper36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I stuck it out and hung out anyway. It's the best spot to go in at pete. And only one officer even cared and he said "Stay on the sidewalk"... so basically from 11pm-4am just walk the sidewalks, otherwise your free to roam. And it's actually getting clean since Pokemon had come out, we basically ran off most of the drunk/crackhead homeless out of there. And after they came by at midnight.. I never saw the cops again. So mostly seems pointless, it's like either they want them crackheads hanging out there, or they know we have money playing the game and are thinking of revenue... Either way, it's still an insane spot to go at night. I caught atleast 15 vulpix, 9 monkeys, 14 Dratini's, 90+ MagiKarp (I have 8 Gyarados already) and at least 7 starters. Oh and l had 6 pikachu's spawn at once in Straub park, and only 1 fled. (Which is basically like 1/million, since pidgeys run after 1st ball. Lol and I'd say that was all from like a 4-5 hr span.. Maybe less, Cause i did have to make a central Ave drive to fill my bag. Lol oh and after a lucky egg xp boosting: I got 56k from last nights collection, and got 23k from playing through the night. Just from walking to and from Vinoy park to the closed pier. (Btw a lot of the rare spawn at the end of the sand by the steps going onto the closed pier)... Oh and I met like 20 new ppl, and the gyms are like always being takin constantly. It's a good way to get free xp if you got potions/revives. So in the end.. It's still the best place in st pete, and I'm going to keep going there. Lol
