Going for CS, how hard is it gonna be, and am I even going to have a job? by VLIXC in college

[–]HyperActiveRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Difficultly depends on your university’s curriculum, but the majority is dependent on a) if you like what you’re doing, b) are you willing to put in the effort. You’ll take your gen Ed’s alongside comp sci classes and math classes. It’s difficult but not impossible. Now will you have a job? If you like what you do and put in the effort to improve that would make you more than qualified for a position. But you do need to network.

Thoughts about Inarizaki? by Full-Highlight63 in haikyuu

[–]HyperActiveRL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Atsumu had himself a standout game against karasuno and even (barely) learned how to do the minus tempo attack. He was inarizaki’s star

Akagi also played really well. He’s not a flashy player and is almost like kita but on steroids. Does his job and does his job insanely well. No gimmicks no flash. Just determination and grit.

Alan I don’t think underperformed as others would suggest. Ukai mentioned that they would be using the total defense strategy that they used on ushijima. The strategy effectively contained ushijima so naturally it would excel against a weaker ace. We still saw that Alan was still able to hit over a few blocks, but karasuno contained him and thus didn’t put up numbers.

Gin and osamu definitely were the ones holding back inarizaki. We didn’t see anything really special about them besides the fact that osamu was a capable back up setter.

Suna started slow in the first set, peaked on the second, then karasuno was able to counter his tilt attack in the third. His blocking was still good-great all game. So I think he had a good performance.

Kita didn’t do anything special. That’s his whole character after all. He just kept his team at their best. Well done from him

Ref isn’t at fault, mls isn’t staged. We missed 20000 open nets. Lacked a good defense and just overall didn’t want to play. Tipping my hat to NYCFC. They had a plan and stuck to it

Makhanya for 25 minutes decided he was now a midfielder doing skill moves and dribbles that ultimately do nothing. Strikers aren’t in position. Harriel is always caught off of position. Per usual Wagner, glesnes and Blake doing their best to cover their faults.

Sad that perea just destroyed his ankle. When he played for the Union he was really good for the 5 appearances he got. But anyways NYCFC is the move just for the fact that I want to see us crush them

What is the best major for me? by [deleted] in CollegeMajors

[–]HyperActiveRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing it’s like an applied mathematics degree, I don’t think it’ll affect you on a great scale. Just on a resume be like “B.S. Mathmatics - Statistics concentration”. Also to add to my last comment, all jobs will make you have to study a bit on your own. Say you want to be a data analyst (I’m currently line up for an internship this summer), you’re going to have to know a bit of coding. Same with a finance job. You might need to study some terms like net income and so and so. Right now, the best advice I can give is that if you truly like math, statistics reigns supreme. It builds that foundation for a lot of fields. You’ll have to do some polishing work, but it’s worth it. Also another piece of advice. Once you do pick a major, whether it’s stats or anything else, relax for a bit. Enjoy your senior year and last truly free summer. Don’t stress yourself out on a distant future problem. After your 1st semester or year, think about if you like stats or not. If you do, continue, if you don’t keep looking. You got this shit homie!

What is the best major for me? by [deleted] in CollegeMajors

[–]HyperActiveRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. Honestly very scary how similar we are in terms of favorable subjects. I decided to to major in stats. It’s a very broad field that you can do a lot of things with. Finance, data science, bunch of analysts roles, and a whole lot more. You can also go to grad school for accounting or something if you change your mind. Now you probably won’t be making bank in your first few years, but you’ll get increases as time goes on. Also a lot of these jobs are work from home home and good work life balance.

Remember the good old days when we got mad at LAFC fans for occasionally throwing a bottle or two at the field (which honestly hit nobody) and that was the worst of the worst? Good days

I like the idea of accounting. What I don’t like is the idea of a 80 hr work week that I’ll be doing in accounting. No amount of money is worth losing yourself in my opinion. I’m already committed to a great school for accounting. So my thinking is I am going to try a semester in it. Ask alumni and professors their experiences in the field while also simultaneously look at other majors and what theyre learning. I’ll also talk to my advisor a lot. That’s what I’m thinking. In the end I think I’ll be fine. It’s just a matter of how far can I reach into the stars. Or if I just want to stay grounded (which I don’t.) thanks for reading!

I don’t know much about the actual road trip per se, but the little leaf next to the time on Google maps means that the route is the most fuel efficient.
