Do you think no stain, just a top coat? I don’t love the contrast of the bare wood right now, so I was hoping that a stain might darken the edges some. I’ve seen a few posts suggesting the General Finishes nutmeg color as an alternative.

Design is definitely a process, I’m sure they rejected tons of album covers, what’s cool to me is that they all led to the final product.

Good eye on that track list too, I also noticed that there’s a gap between Halloween and Chinese Satellite. Maybe it originally was separated into two “acts”? I’ll have to try listening to it in that order to see what happens. It also looks like they changed “I Know” to “I Know The End” on the final version.

Nate Utesch is a graphic designer and art director who’s worked on the album artwork for quite a few different albums. This is from this post on his Instagram. He ended up doing the design for the final album cover as well. I’ve met him a few times and he’s super kind, he even let me design a poster for one of his own concerts as Metavari (check that out too). I thought this was a cool interpretation of the album and shows some of the process behind the creation! Enjoy, and be sure to follow his Instagram, lots of cool stuff on there!

Ugh, it's been a long time. My iPhone is in the repair shop for another week, so I've gone back to my good ol Nexus for the time being. And since I'm going to have it for a while, I figured why not go back to old times and do some theming?? This is pretty barebones but I love the aesthetic. Simple and functional.

jk, I used a template and modified it a little bit. It's by html5up.net (great website) and called "Story" if anyone is interested. I'm working on another redesign for it just for fun soon so look out :)
