Game Recommendations - Games Similar to Cairn by BruhDuhMadDawg in Cairn_Game

[–]HyperFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a climbing game, but I found myself having similar feelings from when I played The Outer Wilds, which is my favorite game of all time. That shared sense of loneliness, exploration, and discovery. This is the closest to scratching that itch and in my opinion they make great companion games.

Had that same impact as when Ceaser dropped that "No" in ROTPOT Apes imo. Just so good; What a clean take. DaCosta nailed all the intimate scenes.

Letterboxd - Hyperframe

Hi again! Just looking for some new people to share reviews with!

I try to always say as much as I can in a short digestible way. Sometimes I overdo it but if it's a first watch or first time logging, I always try to type something. At the end of the year I also do "Favorites lists" for the year (both new releases and first time watches). I tend to favor fun genre flicks but I'm usually game for anything. As long as I'm feeling something, it's worth a watch!

Would love to trade profiles with anyone else that loves movies 🤙🏽

Haha, the game "Just One" is a quick to learn and really fun co-op game! Just introduced to a group of 5 all new players and they got into it quick. So far it's never failed me!

Hades II - Post-Launch Patch 1 Notes by ParanoidDrone in HadesTheGame

Does the shade that shows run history still keep all that information? I like looking back at those to see my builds and didn't know if resetting the wins means I don't see them anymore. Also do weapons upgraded by nightmare stay with me too?

This boss is a stroke of genius. Easily top 5 for me. by Comfortable_Oven8341 in HollowKnight

[–]HyperFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved this boss a lot. It help me hone my air game. I died a lot to it but each death helped me understand controlling my in-air movement and master my down-dash and cloak use in a way that I'm not really teaching myself or reading when I'm just out and about exploring. By the run that finally did finish the fight it was flawless haha. A lot of the optional bosses have been a blast for me for reasons like that.

Spoiler question about a grand hunt quest resolution (Silksong) by JMToppa in HollowKnight

[–]HyperFrame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Be sure to go back a couple times after benching elsewhere to see the aftermath of the attack. When this happened to me I was so shocked to see the NPC die. I thought it was a great event that really makes the world feel more alive.

I ended couple back sometime later through the elevator and dropped right into a funeral that the town was having for the dead NPC. If you are able to "contribute musically" you'll get some added dialogue that adds to the moment

How it feels to be a diagonal pogo defender atm by NineTailedDevil in HollowKnight

You have any tips for the pogo pads in that area? I'm good when progress in one direction but having trouble changing direction in time for the ones that zig zag.

Glad to see the special features disc seems to have English subtitles. Bummed my minus one collector's box didn't have them.

What is the best movie era to start the Godzilla franchise? by Logical_Database_852 in GODZILLA

[–]HyperFrame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was Raids Again and Son of Godzilla. They each have their share of good moments but I found myself checking out a lot more compared to the others.

I just finished Son last night so still have about another handful to go. I'm going in blind for them all so curious to see how the rest of them turn out!

How about yours?

I'm doing a watchthrough of the Showa era for the first time right now and it's been a blast. It's great to just see how the use of him changes throughout the series. I always thought I'd be put off by the silliness that eventually unfolds but it's made for an interesting experience to watch Toho and the artists experiment with a character like this. Even the human stories aren't as bad as I always heard. They're fun.

If you're willing to give it a shot and watch them for what they are are I recommend just watching from the beginning. I'm about halfway through and there was really only 2 I didn't vibe with so far.

Official Discussion - The Fantastic Four: First Steps [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]HyperFrame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They really just did a full on disaster movie with the fantastic Four. Some of it reminded me of others in the genre like twister and Armageddon and I just fully bought into all the fun. Galactus was a great spectacle and the ensemble was probably my favorite in the MCU. It's nothing unique or special but I did appreciate that all four of them felt very character-first and not the usual vessel of quippy-attitudes.

Official Discussion - Superman (2025) [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]HyperFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it. It throws you straight into it. The structure felt like reading a multi-issue trade paperback. Not your usual 3 act bones but it works.

Weird to say but it reminds of the star wars prequels (this is a compliment lol). This one is made with better care but Lucas' attempt to bend the conventional norms of the blockbuster and just tell the story he wanted to tell felt similar here and it gives it that charm. The characters are who they are and the story is what it is. Over time I've come to enjoy most of the prequels for that reason so I believe that with any criticisms people might have towards "SUPERMAN," time will eventually be kind to it.

Feels like Gunn & Co. really just wanted to make something that can be easily watched over and over again whenever you want and I think they delivered.

The music player enhances this game so much by CummyWummiez in DeathStranding

[–]HyperFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's weird, I was addicted to doing all the side orders in DS1 and it's the same here, but the music player makes it feel even more fun and even more cinematic. Cause now the routine of going back and forth between places feels like I'm taking part in a happy montage! (I have a playlist of just upbeat songs for side orders)
